30-man Royal Rumble MatchRoyal Rumble Match

After an exciting Royal Rumble, we now head to WrestleMania. In the first match of the night, Jade Cargill won the women’s rumble match. Gunther defeated Chad Gable in a back and forth match before Seth Rollins retained his title in a triple threat match. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who started off on the same page, exploded and this cost them – and likely their friendship.

In the main event, the Royal Rumble delivered with lots of twists and turns and surprise debuts/returns. The number 1 entrant was CM Punk and the number 2 entrant was a debuting MJF. The crowd erupted at the sound of his music!

When the buzzer went for the number 3 entrant, we saw Xavier Woods being attacked backstage and a voice saying “I won’t be the scapegoat no more” before a figure appeared at the entrance. It was Jack Perry!! Alongside him were 3 masked men and they ran to the ring, threw Punk over the top rope and then beat the hell out of him!! All four men then dragged Punk to the back.

More surprise entrants were: Sammy Guevara, Kris Statlander, Kevin Nash (unfortunately he did not make it to the ring as he tore his quad on the long walk), Bubba Ray Dudley, D’Von and KSI (who now holds the record for shortest time in the rumble at 0.23 seconds).

The last four men were: MJF, Jey Uso, Brock Lesnar and Cody Rhodes.

The winner: MJF.

The main event of WrestleMania is set – Roman Reigns vs MJF for the Undisputed Universal Championship.

Night One

Seth Rollins vs Drew McIntyre for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Night 1 kicks off with our World Heavyweight Championship match between Seth Rollins and Drew McIntyre. The Scottish psychopath has been on a mission to dethrone Rollins and has been attacking Rollins every week. The match starts off with McIntyre dominating proceedings and wearing Rollins down.

However, Rollins fights back and hits a curb stomp out of nowhere! 1…2…. kick out from McIntyre. Rollins hits another and 1….2…….kick out at the last second. The crowd sense how far McIntyre had to dig in for that kick out and are slightly turning. Rollins is furious that two curb stomps didn’t get the job done. He looks at his championship belt on the outside and has a moment. He then goes outside and grabs it, along with a chair.

The ref grabs the chair from Rollins and whilst he has his back turned, nails McIntyre with the belt. Ref turns back around to count 1……2…..and McIntyre kicks out!! The crowd and Rollins can’t believe it!

Rollins drags McIntyre up to his feet and sticks the middle finger up in front of his face. Big mistake as McIntyre flies past Rollins, off the ropes and returns to deliver a claymore! 1….2…..Rollins kicks out. The crowd are now getting behind McIntyre!

As Rollins slowly gets to his feet, he realises how much danger he’s in and he delivers a shocking low blow to the ref. He then grabs his title belt and nails McIntyre. The crowd are heavily booing and as the ref comes around, Rollins nails a third curb stomp for the 1….2….3!

The crowd boo Rollins out of Wembley Stadium and as McIntyre gets up, the crowd starts to cheer him and he acknowledges their support.

The Dudley Boyz vs Kevin Owens & LA Knight in a Tables Match

Since the Royal Rumble, LA Knight has been on a fully-fledged heel turn after Bubba and D’von eliminated him from the Royal Rumble match. Teaming up with Kevin Owens, the challenge was put forward by Knight to the Dudleys – and they accepted on one condition. A tables match!

LA Knight & Kevin Owens worked the majority of the match well together, at points even carrying the older team through some of the spots. One big spot, half way through the match, saw Kevin Owens grab a ladder and climb to the top. Bubba Ray was laid out on a table on the outside of the ring and Owens performed a senton. Surely this is it?! At the last second, Bubba rolls off the table and out of the way.

Back in the ring and to the finish, where Kevin accidently knocks LA Knight out of the ring with the ladder. He looks as he realises his mistake and throws the ladder out of the ring. He turns around and walks straight into a 3-D through the table. The crowd goes wild for the Dudleys in what is their last ever match.

Match length: 20 minutes

The Rock & Stonecold in-ring segment

The two hosts of WrestleMania come to the ring. They both have a bit of banter and mention their past battles in the main events of previous WrestleMania.

It gets a bit awkward and tense when Austin brings up WrestleMania 17 and how he walked out champion. Rock also remembers how the Raw after that WrestleMania went down and said he owes Austin one. Austin asks Rock if he would like to go for it now?

The two square up, face-to-face, nose-to-nose…..and then embrace with a big hug and laugh. They play up to the crowd and say it is all behind them and they are done in the ring as competitors, but as hosts they are the greatest and that’s the bottom line, if ya smell what Rock and Austin are cookin.

As they are leaving and walking up the ramp, CM Punk’s music hits. The crowd go absolutely nuts! As Punk is making his entrance, he walks directly past Austin and the two have a moment and exchange a couple of words.

Is this setting up a future feud?

Promo length: 20 minutes

CM Punk vs Jack Perry in a ‘Real Glass’ Match

Punk vs Perry has been building up for well over a year now and has a huge backstory. Perry blaming Punk for getting fired from AEW and Punk just hating Perry for what he did when punk was in AEW.

Punk proceeds to destroy Perry, but Jack does get some offense in and the two have a very respectable match. You can feel there is real tension between the two.

The objective is to throw your opponent through a real pain of glass.

The finish comes when 3 masked men, run out and smash Punk through the glass. Blood is flowing out of Punk and he is down and out.

The three masked men pull off their masks to reveal themselves…Killswitch, Austin Theory and Wardlow!! A new faction is here in the WWE and they won’t stop until they are no longer the scapegoats!

After both hit their finishers, you can sense the end is in sight. Asuka irish whips Bliss over the top but she holds on. She drags Bliss to the outside to join her and both are now in a tricky spot. The match kicks off night two of WrestleMania 41 and both are showing their athletic prowess. High flips and superkicks galore to start off the match.

Five minutes in and there is no splitting these two at the moment. Both stare at each other in the middle of the ring as the crowd shows their appreciation. Then they both roll out of opposite sides of the ring and pull out ladders!

In a WrestleMania moment, Logan jumps from one ladder to another, but Sammy catches Logan mid-air and turns it into a cutter from the top of the ladder. It’s a long way down and both men crash to the floor. Incredible and the crowd are on their feet again!

Replays are showing that MJF pulled something out of his trunks and put it on his finger before his devastating punch to Reigns. What was it? This does explain why Reigns went down so hard and couldn’t kick out!

The commentators speculate as WrestleMania 41 goes off the air.
