Darby Allin is one of the most fearless and unconventional performers in professional wrestling. Born Samuel Ratsch on January 7, 1993, in Hunt's Point, Washington, Allin has built his reputation on a willingness to put his body on the line night after night — a quality that has earned him a devoted fanbase and cemented his place as one of All Elite Wrestling's most iconic stars. Allin began his professional wrestling career in 2014, cutting his teeth on the independent circuit for promotions including EVOLVE, Progress Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide. He was among the first wave of talent to sign with AEW ahead of its 2019 launch, and has remained one of the promotion's most prominent figures ever since. His character draws heavily from punk rock and skateboarding culture — the ring name itself a tribute to punk legends Darby Crash and GG Allin. His signature half-skull face paint, which he has described as representing feeling "half-dead," stems from a traumatic car accident in his youth that he survived but claimed the life of his uncle. Allin lives a straight edge lifestyle, a personal conviction that has only deepened his connection with fans who see authenticity at the core of everything he does. Inside the ring, Allin is defined by a high-risk, hard-hitting style built around his trademark Coffin Drop — a top-rope senton that he delivers with reckless abandon. In May 2025, he summited Mount Everest — setting a world record for the highest elevation kickflip at 20,958 feet along the way. On April 15, 2026, in front of his home crowd in Everett, Washington, Allin achieved the crowning moment of his career — defeating MJF to win the AEW World Championship for the first time.
