JON
MOXLEY

Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jonathan Good had a rougher start to life than most — dropping out of high school, working minimum wage jobs and getting arrested for shoplifting before wrestling gave him a way out. He began as a teenager, selling popcorn and setting up rings for the Heartland Wrestling Association before eventually getting into the ring himself. Over seven years grinding the American independent circuit through CZW, Dragon Gate USA and wXw, he built a reputation as one of the most intense and credible performers in the business. WWE signed him in 2011, renaming him Dean Ambrose and debuting him as part of The Shield alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. As the unhinged wildcard of the group, Ambrose became one of WWE’s most beloved characters — charismatic, unpredictable and genuinely compelling in a way that felt different to everyone around him. He won the WWE Championship in 2016, but years of creative frustration eventually led him to let his contract expire in 2019 and walk away. What followed was one of wrestling’s great reinventions. Reverting to Jon Moxley, he debuted at AEW’s first pay-per-view to a thunderous reaction and immediately became the cornerstone of the promotion. His biggest Japan milestone came in April 2024 when he defeated Tetsuya Naito to win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship, making him the first wrestler ever to hold world titles in WWE, AEW and NJPW. Violent, uncompromising and utterly authentic, Moxley remains one of the most compelling figures in wrestling today.
