You’ve also embarrassed the family we have here.” Christian turns away from Luchasaurus and back to camera.

“It’s important to tell you children when they’ve gone wrong if you wish to see them reach great heights. Without the discipline I provide Luchasaurus here he would still be carrying around a little boy on his shoulders. Tonight! We show Sting and Darby about discipline. Let’s go.”

MJF INTERVIEW

Renee: “Thanks for sitting down with me the day of your big contract signing. I only have 2 questions for you and we’ll get you on your way.”

MJF: “Whatever you need, Renee.”

Renee: “What does this AEW Mens World Championship mean to you?” She points to the title sitting in MJFs lap.

MJF: “This Triple B is my validation. I tell the world I am the best and then I show them. I should be holding this championship. It’s one thing to say you’re the best but I live it. Triple B is the proof.”

Renee: “Fair enough and how happy are you with who you surround yourself with?”

Renee: “We’ve all seen that Max, you’ve shocked a lot of people with your growth. Well, my last question, How do you feel about CM Punk?”

MJF: “Jeez, that’s even more complicated. This is truly a scenario of, don’t meet your heroes kids. I never thought I would after he left the business but here we are. The man I grew up idolising, returning to the ring and now he hates me… and I hate him too. You know what, I got what I needed from him, long ago he was inspiring but now? He’s a mockery of the old him. The kind of guy he use to fight against. It saddens me but I don’t care now. I’m now focused on being the best version of me, despite the man Punk has become.”

Renee: “Alright, thank you for your time Max.” Max thanks Renee and leaves the interview, making another phone call.

CM PUNK INTERVIEW

Renee: “Hey Phil, thank you for this sit down. Big contract signing today, in-front of a lot of Chicago fans.”

CM Punk: “I do love sitting and talking with you. You’re right, lots of Chicago fans, lots of CM Punk fans. I plan on giving them a great night tonight.”

Renee: “Okay, Let’s begin. What does this AEW Mens World Championship mean to you?”

CM Punk: “I mean, I’ve been doing this for a long time and this feels like the most important championship in our industry. It demands something amazing from every one that holds it and I know I had it taken away from me due to injury but I never lost it. But I’ve earned my chance to win it back and that’s what I plan on doing. I will win this belt back. It belongs to me.”

Renee: “I understand your argument, you never lost it. You definitely deserve the chance to win it back. Next question, how happy are you with who you surround yourself with?”

CM Punk: “Oh man, FTR and I have only really been friendly since I wrestled Dax, one on one. They actually helped MJF lay me out before. But respect was earned and since we fought we stayed in touch. I told them we should all get together, I needed eyes in the back of my head when I was going after Max.”

Renee: “And what about Powerhouse Hobbs?”

CM Punk: “Hobbs was my first match back in 7 years and he beat the piss out of me. It’s been a long time coming, me reconnecting with him. But what an amazing addition to the Cult of Personality. That man has so much potential”

Renee: “You’re not wrong, I don’t know many people stronger than Hobbs. Final question, How do you feel about MJF?”

CM Punk: “Max is incredibly talented. He’s exciting on the mic as well when he’s not just going after the lowest hanging fruit and good enough to be a World Champion here. But I don’t think he’ll be remembered as something iconic, not someone anyone would put on their Mt. Rushmore. I think Max has reached his ceiling and I’m looking down at him trying to break though and I just don’t see it happening.”

MJF AND CM PUNK CONTRACT SIGNING

CM Punks music plays and out comes Punk to a massive reaction from the Chicago crowd, along side him is the rest of the Cult of Personality. Tony Schiavone meets Punk in the ring, with 8 security guards standing in the ring and informs him that only Punk and MJF are allowed in the ring. So the rest of the COP go to stand on the floor.

MJFs music plays and he walks out alone, until he theme changes into the Better than you Bay Bay music and Adam Cole sprints out on stage. MJF and him hug. Roddy and Kyle trail behind. MJF now walks down to the ring with newfound confidence.

Tony Schiavone: “Alright guys, you know the deal. AEW Mens World Championship match this Sunday at ALL OUT. CM Punk vs MJF. You may speak your piece and sign the contract.”

MJF: “I see you’ve brought your title belt with you, let me give you a closer look at a real one.” MJF takes his title belt off and sets it down on the table.”

MJF smiles at Punk, then puts down the mic and signs the contract. Tossing it back on the table for Punk to do the same.

Punk: “Very brave Max, signing on for a match with me, in Chicago. Look, I’ve been in more TV contract signings than you’ve had birthdays. Someone goes through a table, we exchange insults, and unfortunately for the security here, some of them will be get their asses kicked. So say your piece Max.”

MJF: “Do you even remember what happened at ALL OUT last year? I returned as the Joker and I CONFRONT YOU! So what did you do, you got yourself suspended to avoid a match with me. You’re a nostalgia act Punker, a relic of a different time.”

Punk: “You keep talking yourself into a hole like this I’m going to bury you in it. You sing the same old song Max. ‘I’m the best, I’m the future blah blah’. This here isn’t about nostalgia, it’s about legacy. And my legacy is going to end with that title around my waist! While you’re left picking up the pieces of your ego. Because deep down, you know, you’ll always just be the kid lining up for a picture with CM Punk.”

MJF: “You want to talk about that photo? Yeah I met you once, big deal. ‘Just another Friday’ for you. Whatever. It meant everything to me until it didn’t. You ruined that when you came back here and showed nothing but disrespect my way. I told everyone I almost gave up on the business when you left. That was true.” Now standing, MJF composes himself and sits back down.

“You know, when you came here I was happy, I had grown up and I understood why you left. So I introduced myself and that was my mistake. Thinking you were going to be the man I grew watching… I was wrong. Now you’re this husk of a hero and this title here, it’s staying around the waist of the only person that’s ever mattered in this company! ME!”

MJF throws the mic at Punk and the small selection of crowd begin cheering for MJFs promo. Punk looks around and then leaps over the table to attack MJF with the microphone. Security rush in to pull everyone apart but Hobbs and FTR rush in the ring and attack security holding Punk back, then Adam, Roddy and Kyle do the same.

Both factions turn to face each other, MJF bleeding in one corner and Punk on the other corner, while their crews stand in-front of them. MJF and Punk break through their crews and start throwing fist again and a massive brawl between factions begins. MJF and Punk remain the only two in the ring as most of the fighting falls to the outside. Hobbs dismisses Kyle O’Reilly over the barricade while Roddy and Adam fight FTR. Meanwhile inside the ring, MJF kicks Punk between the legs and he falls to his knees in the corner. MJF begins looking for his diamond ring. Hobbs finds the AEW World Championship and tosses it into the ring infront of Punk. Hobbs climbs on the apron, looking to get in the ring but Adam Cole superkicks Hobbs legs, dropping him to his knees then another for his chin. MJF lines up a diamond ring punch but Punk hits him with the belt instead. Punk slowly lifts up MJF for a GTS, takes his time and then throws Max up but he catches the knee. MJF and Punk now face to face and Max hits him with the diamond ring. Punk is sent into the ropes, MJF makes his way to Punk looking for a Heatseeker but FTR and Hobbs manage to pull him away. MJF, with blood streaming from his face climbs to the top rope and yells down at Punk as the Cult of Personality recover on the floor. More security run down and there’s no way either man could reach the other now. They will have to wait til tomorrow night.
