The Big Show comes out on Raw and he buries Brock Lesnar as an undeserving champion. He claims that Paul Heyman is a snake and the only reason that Brock has managed to reach the mountaintop. Big Show doesn’t care if Brock Lesnar is hurt or injured, if he is any kind of man, any kind of champion, he will give him a rematch for the championship when WWE return to the United Kingdom for Rebellion.

Road To Rebellion
Big Match Brock
Brock Lesnar has his ribs taped and doctors cannot clear him to wrestle thanks to the attack by Big Show at No Mercy. Brock Lesnar refuses to accept this and demands he gets a match. Paul Heyman advises him that resting would be smart so that he doesn’t overburden himself but again, Brock Lesnar refuses to take this advice on and wants to fight Big Show now. He demands that Heyman gets the match booked.
After some convincing, Paul Heyman manages to get Brock a match at Rebellion. WWE are refusing to take responsibility, so it will be an Unsanctioned Street Fight. Brock Lesnar is happy to hear it. Brock and Big Show have a public contract signing which of course ends in chaos. Brock attacks Show, but the injured ribs come into play and he gets chokeslammed through the table. Big Show looks forward to exposing Brock as being overrated.
Old as Time
The Rock and Steve Austin have such a long, detailed rivalry and they are set to add another chapter to it. Steve Austin feels like he still hasn’t got proper revenge on The Rock for his assault all those months ago and he challenges Rock to wrestle each other once more. The Rock says he has a lot of career highs and the thing he has enjoyed the most, is whipping Austin’s candy ass all over the United States. It would be a pleasure to kick his ass all over the United Kingdom too.
The Rock is confident that he will get a win especially if Team Hollywood have his back, but he is greeted by bad news. Hulk Hogan says that he has Hollywood business to attend to and he is taking Billy Kidman with him. The Rock is not happy about this, he gets in Hogan’s face and warns him that if he is trying to screw him that it will backfire. Hogan promises that he isn’t but he jokingly asks “I thought you were the great one?”
The Rock reaffirms that he is the great one and he will get the job done against Austin on his own. DDP tells Rock that he will be there but he has a match of his own to focus on. The Rock is approached by Kevin Nash and X-Pac who tell him that they will be in the UK and will have his back. The Rock is unsure about this, asking them to focus on getting their own job done.
Brothers in Arms
The Undertaker continues his feud with the Un-Americans and he gets baited into finding his motorbike backstage, led into an ambush by the faction. Jericho, Christian and Storm mock the Undertaker and make reference to his past gimmick of being a “spooky goth wearing makeup”. Undertaker realises that sometimes you cannot fight all of your battles alone, and he brings in a familiar face to help him fight them.
Kane comes in and steps by his brother’s side to fight Christian and Storm at Rebellion.
Final Chance
Chris Benoit continues his pursuit of DDP and the Intercontinental championship. DDP is reluctant to agree to a match and feels like he doesn’t deserve one, but he gets convinced. Chris Benoit puts a stipulation on the line. If Benoit fails to win, then he can never challenge DDP for the title ever again. DDP cannot resist and he accepts, relieved to finally rid himself of Benoit for good.
After learning that Hogan and Kidman will not be at Rebellion, DDP get stressed that he will have to get the job done on his own. Kevin Nash and X-Pac remind him that they are also in the UK and willing to help if they can get in on Team Hollywood. DDP says that he cannot make that call and they have to speak to the boss to get in on the group.
Jazzed Up
Trish Stratus’ victory celebration is cut short by Jazz who is sick of sitting on the sidelines watching these “pathetic girls” run around fighting over the championship. She doesn’t care about being sexy, being prude or how she looks. All she cares about is success. She dares Trish to face her at Rebellion, but warns her that accepting the challenge will be the end of her reign. Trish is not one to back down from a challenge and she accepts the match, regardless of Jazz’s threats.
Hardcore
Mark Henry runs out of money to pay the APA so they stop protecting him. They even tell Spike where Mark Henry has been hiding, allowing Spike to beat up Henry to convince him to put the title on the line. The match is booked for Rebellion, however Stephanie McMahon gets involved and she is sick of seeing the Hardcore title being gatekeeped by Raw. She inserts two of Smackdown’s stars into the match to bring the title over to the blue brand. She inserts Bubba Ray Dudley and Matt Hardy.
Worth mentioning that Matt unsuccessfully challenged for the IC title. Lita prepares him for this match as a great opportunity to win singles gold.
Proving Yourself
Kevin Nash and X-Pac have been told by The Rock that if they can bring in more gold for the team, then they would consider their membership in Team Hollywood. So, Nash & Pac set their sights on the tag titles which kills 2 birds in one stone, as they can try to take out Booker T to appease Team Hollywood.
The Rock walks in on Hulk Hogan having private conversations with Kevin Nash and X-Pac which leads him to be more suspicious of Hogan’s intentions not being present at Rebellion. Hogan says that they were just catching up and he was giving them advice on how to take on Booker T and Edge. Kevin Nash jokingly tells Rock to ask Kidman for advice on them joining the group, knowing that Kidman is not allowed to be vocally against their presence in the group. The Rock warns them all that he is the leader of this group and he calls the shots. Nash and X-Pac winning the tag titles doesn’t guarantee their place in the group.

Rebellion
WWE return to the United Kingdom for a PPV and this show opens up with a tag title match. Booker T & Edge defend against Kevin Nash and X-Pac. Nas & X-Pac isolate Edge during the match, but he is able to get a hot tag to Booker T. Booker T fires up and takes the fight to them, but interference from X-Pac kills his momentum. Nash & X-Pac look poised for victory, but in runs a masked man wearing an nWo shirt, a call back to when Billy Kidman ran out on Triple H in a mask to drive a wedge through Triple H and his buddies. The man distracts the referee whilst a pin is going on. X-Pac is the legal man and he gets distracted by this, turning around into a Book End and losing the match.
Booker T & Edge retain in 4:39
The man takes the mask off, and it is Triple H! He drops Nash with a Spinebuster, X-Pac with a pedigree and stands face to face with frenemy Booker T.
Cameras go backstage to the Boiler Room to watch a hardcore brawl over the Hardcore championship. Mark Henry, Spike Dudley, Matt Hardy and Bubba Ray Dudley are kick the crap out of each other backstage. Bubba gets a DDT near fall. A burst pipe sends Matt Hardy and the referee FLYING across the boiler room. Spike gets a near fall from a Dudley Dog. Henry hits Bubba with a splash on the stairs and gets the pin.
Mark Henry retains in 6:34.
Next, Trish Stratus defends her women’s championship against Jazz. Stratus comes into this match pretty confident, but that attitude slowly fades as she has zero answers for Jazz. She pulls out her biggest moves, but Jazz keeps fighting back even harder. Trish thinks she has it won with a Stratusphere, but Jazz reaches the ropes. Eventually, Jazz hits her DDT finisher and wins the women’s championship.
Jazz wins the women’s title in 4:29.
DDP defends the IC championship against Chris Benoit. After dodging a singles match with Benoit for some time, it is clear why. Benoit is dominant here, outwrestling and out-maneuvering DDP throughout until he locks in the crossface and makes him tap.
Chris Benoit wins the IC title in 2:28.
Brothers of Destruction vs Un-Americans next. This was a crazy match. The poor referee got bumped by both teams so many times. These two teams tore each other apart, but the fight gets unfair outside of the ring as Lance Storm interferes to help Christian and Chris Jericho. However, the brothers are resilient and refuse to be defeated by the numbers game. Once the referee recovers from a knock down for the 7th time, he counts out both teams as they are so focused on fighting on the outside. Referees and officials finally separate both teams and regain control.
Brothers of Destruction vs Un-Americans ends in a double count out in 10:14.
Our co-main event is another chapter in The Rock vs Steve Austin. As expected, this is an incredibly close back and forth between familiar foes. The Rock counters the stunner, Austin counters Rock Bottom. The Rock steals the stunner, Austin does his own badass rendition of the people’s elbow. A thrilling encounter comes to an end after back to back to back reversals until Austin drops a stunner and wins.
Steve Austin wins in 2:52.
After the match, Steve Austin has a beer bash and puts the main event competitors on notice. He doesn’t care if it is Big Show or Brock Lesnar, he is coming for the WWE title and whipping their ass in the process.
Main event time, an unsanctioned Street Fight between an injured Brock Lesnar and a motivated Big Show for the Undisputed WWE championship. Lesnar shows impressive resilience, taking on the power of the giant with taped ribs. Big Show gives him a beating, exposing the ribs and targeting them with chairs and slams. Show lies Lesnar on a table and teases doing a top rope splash but Lesnar meets him up there and lands a belly to belly suplex which breaks the ring!!! Lesnar powers onwards, hitting an F-5 and soldiering out a huge title defence.
Brock Lesnar retains in 3:43.
Brock Lesnar struggles to his feet but he holds the WWE championship up in victory. Paul Heyman is in awe at what he just saw, but there is a small part of him that appears fearful of the beast he has created.
Brock Lesnar reigns strong after another victory over the Big Show. Who will step up to challenge him next? Tune in next week for episode 10.
