Is it me or has February felt like it has 90 days in it. Jeez it has been a slow one. One thing that wasn’t slowed down is the wrestling business and all its craziness and amps me up and needing to rant, so here I am once again.
Shane McMahon/AEW fiasco

I for one was totally shocked and confused when Tony Khan and Shane McMahon had their private business chat not too long ago. What is extremely strange here is his brother-in-law is the Chief Content Officer of the company his own father built. His sister Stephanie Levesque was also heavily involved with the company as well so what the hell actually happened?
Were the whole Vince McMahon charges enough to want to distance himself from? He would have known his father crossed the line on multiple occasions with Shane still employed there. Heck I as a fan new for decades something wasn’t right due to how Mr. McMahon had some type of sexual storyline or scene involving the female talent.
Could it be Triple H became the saviour of the company when he thought it should have been himself?
The fact Shane O’Mac had a business meeting with the competition to his family’s business shows just how low he truly views WWE. To me, it showed he doesn’t have the greatest relationship with his sister and with his brother-in-law.
I am sure they had talks about how Shane could contribute to the growth of WWE moving forward and it is very plausible that Shane did not enjoy what they had to say. It was probably a major blow to his ego.
He is a McMahon after all so could it be a way for the McMahon’s to once again gain control of the wrestling world much like when the company wiped out WCW.
With rumors of Shane wanting to run the company and requesting equity in AEW all the while being unfamiliar with the company and how it operates, it was definitely and oddball meeting
It takes massive guts to walk into a business meeting hoping to land a position and spew some outlandish requests. Yes, he is Vince’s son, and it showed here.
To credit Tony Khan, he would have viewed this as a possible game-changer. He would suddenly have an inside to how WWE works and how to tackle this war.
So, he would have been foolish to turn down this business meeting. I will say I would bet money that Tony took major offence to this and like Shane was trying to make a mockery of himself and his company. I would have thrown him out of my office Uncle Phil- Jazz style.
Maybe, just maybe Shane’s plan was to go in and flip the company upside down, destroying everything AEW has built. Or he planned to use AEW as an alternative to WWE but with WWE’s help.
Keep it just a tad different then the typical WWE formula but under the WWE umbrella, much like the Black & Gold NXT days. It was WWE but felt like it wasn’t.
At the end of the day, whatever the hell Shane’s plan was didn’t come to fruition as Tony saw his BS. Do I really think Shane could have helped AEW in the long run? Not at all.
AEW Grand Slam Australia’s ring size

Unless you haven’t been online since the event has happened, you might not have noticed the amount of unwarranted heat AEW has taken is just way overboard.
Of course, the company wouldn’t spend the astronomical price to ship their typical ring to Australia as I don’t blame them but they ended up with a much smaller ring than ordinarily used and the fans were quick to air their grievances.
This here is what is wrong with social media and how people have no issues not only saying their peace (which they should) but they go into this hatred mode.
It goes from being just a simple issue which doesn’t affect the audience in any forum to just being plain toxic. The only people who should have issues with the ring size are the performers and that is between them and their boss.
I do believe AEW takes more heat than they ever should. I am all about supporting your favorite promotion, much like any sport team, but this goal of trying to diminish the other accomplishments are too much.
I would not sit down and constantly watch the same show I dislike week after week then hop online to complain. There is such an easy solution here FYI.
The size of the ring isn’t the main issue or even an issue. It is how people react to a simple change in such a bad way. Tony Khan and all his employees have to be exhausted from all from all of this. I am a diehard WWE guy, but WWE needs AEW, and they need AEW to do well.
WWE needs competition and AEW needs competition. I watch AEW, TNA and as much others as I can, and I don’t like to compare because each company needs to have their own formula to how they run their business and if it differs from WWE’s then that is good.
If AEW, TNA etc. were just like WWE, how boring would that be.
More love, less hate. More support, less toxicity. If you don’t like a certain product then just don’t watch it.
Speedball Mike Bailey officially signs with AEW

Well crap eh?. I literally just did a rant on how I would like to see Speedball in WWE and BOOM, the rumors of him & AEW became a reality.
The main reason I chose WWE over AEW was I just think he would have added a much needed change us viewers need in terms of uniqueness in characters. I do think he could have more success in AEW than WWE at this moment, so I am quite excited to see where this goes.
I hope AEW hypes up Bailey’s upcoming debut with some great vignettes, much like the one on this past week’s edition of Collision. To me, vignettes are a major money tool.
While it gives the audience little snippets of what is to come, it gives the audience the chance to do some research as well. With some solid vignettes, Speedball could debut as a major fan favourite.
I am not one who is going to create “dream matches” on AEW for Bailey, I am going to let him take me on an adventure with him and see where he takes it.
I am not going to have ridiculous expectations as that is never fair for any talent to achieve. I am going to trust the process, not judge how others have been pushed, and literally enjoy his journey.
Mike Bailey has all the makings of being a major household name (he is already my son’s favourite from seeing him at our local shows) and has a great way of drawing in the audience with his explosive move set.
By this summer, everybody will know who Speedball Mike Bailey is and that is my prediction.
WWE Hall of Fame Inductee formula

The annual WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceramony is creeping on up and has thus far announced only Triple H and Michelle McCool as inductees.
The HOF is always great to watch the wrestlers get rewarded for their hard work and dedication. The online chatter on who should be inducted is always fun to see but for me it is just the same WWE formula, so it loses its prestige every year. It is repetitive.
Yes, WWE has done the whole “never say never” and inducted stars who have shared their displeasures of Vince McMahon and his company, but I think WWE needs to go beyond that. It needs to make each year’s ceremony meaningful to the audience.
I think WWE needs to adapt a formula of 1-2 main stars then to one mid-level, 1 female, 1 tag team and 1 miscellaneous name. For the miscellaneous name it could be a referee, a manager, ring announcer, or any type of deserving behind the scenes employee.
This needs to become more then just a typical Wrestlemania weekend event, it needs to feel like a celebration for those who shed a lot of blood, sweat and tears all for the goodness of the company. Don’t make this a popularity contest, make it about the talent and their body of work.
I am not knocking the WWE HOF ceremony at all; all I am saying is I feel it is losing its appeal and needs to really put the priority and focus on the company and fans celebrating the inductees journeys and all they have put into the business. It can’t just be another “WWE show”, the talent deserves more than just that.
Alrighty, my stomach just started growling and I realized it was lunch time, so I am off to feed this belly.
Keep on supporting us here at All Your Wrestling and I will be back in no time as I am one to never shy away from a solid rant.
