A video package plays, highlighting the journey the contenders have been on for the 4 championships on the line here tonight. We also recap the intense rivalries between CM Punk and Bron Steiner as well as Eddie Kingston and Ricky Starks.
A display of pyro goes off and we are welcomed to the first NWA PPV of the new era, Built To Destroy! Ian Riccaboni & Nigel McGuiness welcome us to the PPV and hype up the exciting card we have on offer tonight. We will kick off the night with tag team action
Grizzled Young Veterans vs Authors of Pain vs War Machine, World Tag League Tiebreaker
The winner of this 3-way tag will meet FTR later tonight for the NWA World Tag Team Championships. A man from each team will be legal in the match at all times. The AOP and War Machine make quick work of the Grizzled Young Veterans before having a stare down. They have a back and forth hoss fight but the GYVs spoil the fun and take them both out. They rely on quick tags to stay on top of their much bigger opponents but they can only hold it together for so long.
War Machine fight back into the match and hit Akam with Thor’s Hammer. Before they can get the pin, the Veterans attack them with chairs! No DQ in a triple threat. They try to take advantage, but the AOP hit Drake with a double powerbomb and pin him after 14 minutes. The AOP set themselves up for a rematch with FTR, this time with gold on the line.
Backstage Bret Hart gives CM Punk some advice on dealing with a Steiner and tells him sometimes it helps to have a foundation.
Eddie Kingston vs Ricky Starks
In this match, if Eddie Kingston uses his cast as a weapon, he will be disqualified. This starts off as a brawl, both men trying to tear each other apart. The referee finally gets control of the match as Starks targets Kingston’s arm to gain the upper hand. Eddie Kingston tries to fight back, but he quickly realises that accepting this match with only one legal hand was a near impossible task. Kingston rallies with the fans behind him and he manages to fight back. Kingston drops Starks with a nasty superplex from the top rope onto the ring apron!
They continue to trade blows, Kingston hits the Uraken with his weaker hand but it doesn’t keep Starks down. Starks recovers and goes for Rochambeau but Kingston counters it. He “accidentally” pulls down the turnbuckle pad and the referee fixes it. Whilst he is busy, Eddie Kingston low blows Starks with his casted hand, then hits the Uraken with his casted hand. He pins Starks after 12 minutes and wins the match.
Chad Gable is approached backstage by Sting. He sends him a warning about the dangers of wrestling Walter. Gable is aware and he has a game plan. Sting tells him that he is rooting for him.
Jordynne Grace & Hikaru Shida vs The Vendetta
Grace and Deonna Purrazzo start off the match. They wrestle to a stalemate, tagging in their respective partners. Taya Valkyrie overpowers Shida, but Hikaru is quicker and able to reverse her often. Taya uses a hair pull to gain control for her team. Shida manages a tag to Grace who goes on a hot streak. Grace goes for the Juggernaut driver on Taya but Deonna attacks. The match breaks down as all 4 women exhaust their arsenal on each other. Shida takes out Taya with the Katana kick, Grace hits Deonna with the Juggernaut Driver and pins her after 11 minutes.
We have a live musical performance from Living Colour. They play their hit song Type before transitioning to their biggest hit, Cult of Personality, just in time for the entrance of CM Punk.
CM Punk vs Bron Steiner w/Taz
CM Punk is hesitant in this anticipated rematch, now aware of the dangerous power of Steiner. Punk evades strikes and tries to ground Bron and wear him out. Grounding Bron is Punk’s best chance at winning because anytime Steiner is on his feet he is able to deal huge damage with strikes and slams. The action spills to the outside, Bron goes for a huge spear but Punk dodges, Bron goes through the barricade! Punk slowly manages to get Steiner into the ring, he hits the GTS for the 1-2-kick out! Punk is in shock. He goes for a second one, Steiner slips out and nails a brutal spear!
He gets up for a second one, Punk moves out the way and the referee is drilled instead. Bron hits a second then a third spear onto Punk. With the referee out, he sees a chance to punish Punk some more. He goes outside and grabs a chain and prepares to use it. However, he doesn’t see FTR come down to the ring. They hit Bron with the Shatter Machine! They help Punk up, he hits one more GTS and gets the pinfall victory after 19 minutes. FTR helped Punk up and out of the ring.
We cut backstage and Athena calls for medical help because Billie Starkz is down and crying in pain. Athena says she left her alone just for a moment. She blames Mercedes Mone. She tells the camera that she is not intimidated and she will be there at ringside tonight. Jordynne Grace comes into the shot and says she will accompany Athena too. They will do whatever it takes to give Kamille a fair shot.
Zack Sabre Jr. vs Ilja Dragunov vs LA Knight vs Christian Cage vs MJF, Championship Scramble for inaugural NWA Heritage Championship
NWA legend, multi-time tag champion and 3 time NWA TV champion Tully Blanchard is in attendance. Wade Barrett comes ringside and he will present the winner with the championship. The championship scramble will be a 30 minute time limit match. Entrants 1 and 2 will start the match and there will be another participant every 5 minutes until all 5 men are in the match. Pinfalls and submissions during the match will result in an unofficial champion being crowned, but only the final champion at the end of the time limit will be acknowledged as the inaugural NWA Heritage Champion.
Zack Sabre Jr and Ilja Dragunov start the match. They grapple and strike each other to a stalemate. Christian Cage enters the match third. He tries to out wrestle Zack and Ilja but they keep dumping him out of the ring and continue with their own mini match. Christian doesn’t like this. He grabs a steel chair and takes out both men with the chair. He drops Dragunov with an Unprettier on the chair and pins him for the first fall. Christian isn’t done. He takes out Zack again and he sets up for a conchairto, until entrant 4 comes down, LA Knight.
Knight tackles Christian and they get into a brawl which spills out of the ring. Zack Sabre Jr and Ilja Dragunov recover in the ring. Dragunov hits Torpedo Moscow and pins Zack to become “champion”. LA Knight and Christian have fought into the crowd, Christian goes for the Unprettier but it is reversed. LA Knight sends Christian through a table before making his way back to the ring. Knight fights with Dragunov, he lands the BFT and goes for the pin but it is at the same time MJF enters the match. He pulls out Knight and throws him into the barricade. MJF steals the pin and he is the “champion”.
MJF spends the remaining 10 minutes avoiding contact and breaking up pins and submission attempts. MJF finally gets caught by Zack Sabre Jr into an Octopus stretch and he is forced to submit with only a few minutes remaining. In the final moments of the match, LA Knight drops Dragunov with the BFT and has the match won, but he is dragged out of the ring by Christian before the 3 count. Seconds later, the bell rings. Zack Sabre Jr walks out as the inaugural Heritage champion after 30 minutes. LA Knight and Christian Cage get into a heated argument at ringside which security have to diffuse. Wade Barrett hands over the belt, but Zack demands that he put the belt around his waist himself and then raise his hand.
FTR vs Authors of Pain w/Paul Ellering for vacant NWA World Tag Team Championships
We have some breaking news as we pan to ringside, the newest signings the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin), Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows are all sat and ready to watch the next match.
During the entrance, FTR are surprised by an attack by Bron Steiner. He drills Cash Wheeler with a spear and hits a military press powerslam on Dax Harwood. Security come out and detain an extremely upset Bron Steiner after the events earlier in the night. FTR makes it to the ring to complete the match but they are not in the best shape. AOP dominates them early on, FTR manage to overcome their injuries and fight their way back into the match.
FTR try to expose a turnbuckle, which is how they won their first match against each other on the debut episode on NWA:WCCW. Paul Ellering gets involved to prevent this from happening, but he is pushed off the apron. AOP grabbed hold of FTR and hit them with the Super Collider. After 12 minutes, AOP won the match and the championships.
We pan to ringside to see former WWF and NWA women’s champion Jazz, but more significantly she is sat next to two more new signings for the NWA. Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky are sat and ready to watch the following match.
Kamille w/Athena & Jordynne Grace vs Mercedes Mone w/The Vendetta for vacant NWA World Women’s Championship
Before the match even gets started we have hostility between The Vendetta, Athena and Jordynne Grace. The referee acts quickly and decides to have all 4 women escorted and banned from ringside. During the feeling out process, Kamille is clearly stronger than Mone but she proves to be just as quick and agile too. Mercedes knocks Kamille out of the ring. She goes for a suicide dive, Kamille catches her with a body slam. On the outside, Mone pushes Kamille into the ring post and she collides with her neck. This becomes the focus of attack for Mone.
She keeps trying to set up the Bank Statement but Kamille is still strong enough to overpower her. Mercedes tries the Mone Maker, but she isn’t big enough to carry the weight. Kamille manages to hit the sit-out dominator for a near fall. She goes for a second one but Mercedes counters into the Bank Statement. Kamille manages to rise to her feet and throw Mercedes out of the ring.
The Vendetta make their way back down to the ring, Deonna Purrazzo has the loaded briefcase in her hands. Out comes Jordynne Grace and Athena and the 4 women brawl on the outside. Grace and Valkyrie fight into the crowd. Athena and Purrazzo fight back and forth over the briefcase. Out comes Billie Starkz limping to help her friend Athena. Starkz takes the briefcase off Deonna…then she clobbers Athena with it!
Billie Starkz immediately starts walking around normally, she was never injured at all! She clobbers Kamille with the briefcase whilst Mercedes has the referee distracted. Mercedes locks in the Bank Statement. Kamille is not responding and the referee calls for the bell after 20 minutes. Mercedes Mone is handed over the newly designed NWA Women’s championship. She raises it high, pyro goes off as her 3 allies applaud her victory.
Walter vs Chad Gable for vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship
Former NWA world champion Ricky Steamboat is in attendance, as is Bret Hart and Sting for our main event of the evening.
A live orchestra is on the stage playing an epic rendition of his entrance music, Symphony No.9 in E minor. Chad Gable gets a promo package of his time in the olympics and as a representative of America. He gets a patriotic entrance. Samantha Irvin delivers passionate introductions for both our competitors. We get ourselves a wrestling clinic here between these two. Although Walter is able to overpower Gable, Chad targets and weakens Walter’s limbs to the point he struggles to stand up straight and efficiently go for the powerbomb. Gable keeps shooting for the Ankle Lock but Walter stops him. Walter goes up top for a top rope splash, Gable meets him up there and lands a huge belly to belly suplex off the top!
Gable hits the Olympic Slam for a near fall. Gable gets the ankle lock in and he feels victory within his grasp, but Walter reaches the ropes. Gable goes for a rare high risk move, but it backfires and he is chopped in midair. Gunther takes Gable up the turnbuckle, hitting a super Powerbomb for the 3 count. Walter is given the prestigious NWA world heavyweight championship. Chad Gable sits in the corner and looks on at Walter with sorrow and disappointment.
