Wrestlemania 41 Saturday Results & Review

We are live from the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada for the first night of WWE’s flagship event. Tonight’s event will be capped off by CM Punk’s first ever Wrestlemania main event, but how much of a factor will Paul Heyman be in the star-studded main event? Can Jey Uso ‘yeet’ his way to his first world championship against Ring General Gunther? Will it still be Tiffy Time when the bell rings, or will the Queen reclaim her throne? All of that and more to come. Here is a quick look at my predictions.

Our Wrestlemania cold open is narrated by none other than The Game, Triple H. The newly inducted Hall of Famer welcomes us to Wrestlemania ahead of a pyro display. The Wrestlemania stage is pretty cool but we are immediately bombarded with a live advert for Fatal Fury with a bunch of dancers.

Cheerleaders line the aisles of the crowd, “yeet” flag bearers line the entrance ramp as Jey Uso enters through the Las Vegas crowd. He had a mammoth walk down to the ring through the mass crowd. The IWC will try to tell you Jey is not over, but this crowd is proof otherwise.

World Heavyweight Championship

Ignore what the IWC try and tell you. Jey Uso is a talented singles wrestler who has gained a lot of popularity over the last couple years. After a brief Intercontinental title run, Jey won the 2025 Royal Rumble and set up a rematch with the Heavyweight champion, Gunther. The story between these 2 has been largely underwhelming, lacking in substance until the last couple of weeks when Gunther brutalised Jimmy Uso. Jey finally got serious and he does not fear Gunther.

The match begins with a slow feeling out process, Jey Uso managing to drop Gunther a couple times and rattling the champion. Jey’s momentum is cut short with a Gunther chop sending him out of the ring. Gunther starts slowly dissecting Jey but Uso pulls out a spear for a near fall! That was out of no where. Gunther regains control and hits a giant superplex, a dinosaur dropkick and finally the powerbomb. Jey kicks out. I don’t think this match is going too long. Jey counters a second powerbomb and hits a second spear. He hits the Uso Splash for another near fall. Jey goes for a suicide dive, the referee has to move out of the way and Gunther clocks him with the title. A diving splash by Gunther gets another near fall.

Gunther locks in the rear naked choke but Jey reaches the ropes. Gunther continues to pummel Uso but Jey keeps getting back up. They trade stiff blows and Jey manages to drop Gunther with a lariat. Jey counters a choke with a German suplex. Jey counters a powerbomb with one of his own! A pair of superkicks, a spear and a trio of Uso Splashes by Jey. Now he locks Gunther in his own rear naked choke and Gunther taps out!!! Jey is the new champion!

Analysis

B Grade – Main Event Jey Uso finally wins a world championship. This was a very enjoyable opener that did not go how I expected. Finishers thrown out early on, Gunther using the title in an attempt to cheat and Jey matching Gunther with his own offence. I liked the story of Jey Uso having to go outside of his own move-set to get the win. I‘m absolutely shocked that Gunther tapped out to Jey.

I have since slept and rewatched this match and as much as I enjoyed it, I really did not like the finish. It did not make much sense for Jey to score a submission win and he did it so quickly that it made Gunther look like a chump. Unfortunately that damaged the overall quality for me.

Jey winning was absolutely the right choice. He deserves it and his credibility would have been shot if he lost.

Jimmy Uso comes to the ring and celebrates with his brother. Jey leaves through the crowd and celebrates with the fans.

I was hoping we might still see an extravagant New Day Wrestlemania entrance but there was nothing special. There entrance attire looked cool with a nod to Giant Gonzales. On the back there is a 3 headed unicorn but one of the heads is dead, referencing Big E being dead to them. That is cold as fuck. The War Raiders helmets look so goofy I spit my cider on my brand new couch. Screw you War Raiders for looking so funny!

WOrld Tag Team Championships

The Raw Tag Division has been dead for the majority of the past year. It doesn’t help that there is only like 4 established teams that can be used. At least the championships were relevant being around the waists of the Judgement Day. Ever since War Raiders won the straps, the championships have fell into obscurity. Even the New Day has lost momentum since turning heel on ex-bestie Big E. This is probably the most heatless match over Wrestlemania weekend.

New Day try to sneak attack the War Raiders at the start of the match but it backfires. Ivar wipes them both out on the outside. Back Suplex x diving splash combo looked brutal by the War Raiders. The New Day take control and wear down Erik, targeting his previously injured neck. Erik manages a tag to Ivar who hits his comeback. Ivar drops both New Day members with a handspring back elbow. Erik saves Ivar from the Midnight Hour but receives Trouble in Paradise. Ivar hits a moonsault but the pin is broken by a diving elbow drop by Woods.

Erik drops Woods with a violent knee, Kofi saves his partner from War Machine. The referee has an issue with Erik being in the ring for the tag team finisher because he is not the legal man. This allows Kofi to trip up Ivar, the New Day put him away with the Midnight Hour as Kofi holds Ivar’s leg down for the pin.

Analysis

C- Grade – This was about what I expected from this match. Not a lot of heat or fan interest, but the work was fine and the right team won. This was a boring TV match at best. I hope that with the New Day as champions once again, they can help rebuild the derelict tag division on Raw.

New music for Naomi! About time, she tears through a wall of caution tape for her entrance. This is the most I have been invested in Naomi ever. We are interrupted by a Wrestlemania Weather Report from some random bald guy. Why? Because a storm is coming. Jade Cargill looks a billion dollars as she enters to some Sting-esque snow.

Jade Cargill vs Naomi

After months of silence and little storyline development, it was finally revealed that Naomi was the one responsible for Jade Cargill’s brutal assault that kept her off TV for months. Ever since her return, Jade’s promo skills appear to have improved and her in-ring work against Liv Morgan looked pretty good too. Naomi has been doing excellent character work as the crazy jealous friend of Bianca Belair, although the EST has distanced herself from this whole thing to focus on her title match. Naomi cost Jade her match vs Morgan, which was the first singles loss of Jade’s WWE career.

This turns into a fight pretty quickly and it spills to the outside, Jade throwing her rival around with ease. Naomi rakes the eyes and drops Jade with an X-Factor from the apron to the floor. Naomi hits Jade with a blockbuster on the outside too. Jade counters Naomi with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. She catches Naomi mid-blockbuster and hits a suplex, an impressive feat of strength. Jade hesitates and clearly communicates the next spot with Naomi, which was a catch into a fallaway slam. Naomi hits a top rope bulldog followed with the split-legged moonsault for a near fall.

Naomi traps Jade in the rings of Saturn, Jade rolls out and powers out of it. Jade tosses Naomi from an electric chair into a powerbomb, which was cool. Cargill hits Jaded and beats her rival.

Analysis

C+ Grade – It was a little rough around the edges, but Naomi is such a brilliant performer and there was enough heat in the story for this to be an enjoyable watch. Jade is improving match by match, even if it is slowly. She had some good feats of strength, especially the electric chair into the powerbomb. That was amazing! I hope this rivalry is not over.

Jacob Fatu enters wearing a goofy looking wolf mask, whilst LA Knight enters for his match in a snow white Maserati. Not sure why, but it looked pretty rad.

United States Championship

YEAH! Jacob Fatu has been on an absolute tear over the past few months over on Smackdown. He has captured the attention of wrestling fans with his chaotic ring work and authentic mic work. LA Knight has been in an on-and-off rivalry with the Bloodline for quite some time. Fatu ended his rivalry with Braun Strowman, winning a Last Man Standing match to become number 1 contender for the US title. Solo Sikoa appears more than happy to let Jacob Fatu step up and win gold for the family.

LA Knight gets the early advantage and nearly hits the BFT but Fatu dodges. Fatu hits a pop-up Samoan drop and Knight is suffering. He wrestled twice last night and suffered a hellacious beat down after the match by Fatu. Jacob Fatu dominates Knight, targeting the injured ribs until Knight finds a counter for a senton. Knight counters a Samoan Drop with some sort of weird arm drag thing, it looked awkward. Knight starts to fight back against the Samoan Werewolf. He hits a diving elbow drop for a 2. Knight hits a top rope German Suplex on Fatu for another near fall.

Fatu counters the BFT again and hits a trio of corner hip attacks, followed by a swanton bomb for a near fall. Knight manages to catch Fatu mid-moonsault with a BFT!! Fatu gets to the rope before the 3. He sentons Knight who is lengthways on the top rope. Fatu hits a pair of diving moonsaults and pins Knight to win the US title. Haku comes down to the ring and congratulates Fatu.

Analysis

B+ Grade – This one slapped harder than I expected it to. In the words of Jacob Fatu “all gas, no brakes.” These 2 went to war for 10 minutes. LA Knight sold his ribs well and played the face in peril role well. Fatu looked like an unstoppable monster and he wins his first Wrestlemania match. I imagine first of many.

Fatu should reign as champion for a long time. As for LA Knight, I want him to break into the main event scene now. He is over and he is talented enough to be there.

A vintage sepia effect is on the screen as a mariachi band wearing El Grande Americano masks play the masked legend to the ring.

Rey Fenix vs El Grande Americano

A Wrestlemania dream match between two of the greatest luchadores in history is unfortunately not going ahead. Rey Mysterio picked up an injury and he will not be medically cleared to compete here tonight. Recently debuting Rey Fenix will take his place. It is a shame that Chad Gable is not wrestling at Wrestlemania, he deserves a spot on the card but El Grande Americano will have to do. Even with the participant change, I still think that EGA is losing here tonight. Vikingo is at ringside because it was announced earlier that WWE has acquired AAA. A monumental moment in wrestling history.

El Grande Americano gets in Vikingo’s face and the AAA star drops him with a kick. Fenix and Americano grapple until Fenix takes him down with a super hurricanrana. Missile dropkick by Fenix followed by a big diving crossbody. Americano German Suplexes Fenix. Americano catches Fenix mid-springboard with a Northern Lights suplex. Fenix demonstrates his flair with his signature tiger feint kick into the spin kick. Americano hit a moonsault senton, it was like an inverted 450 splash. It was incredible! Fenix hits the Fire Driver for a near fall.

The referee checks on a downed Rey Fenix whilst Americano puts a metal plate into his mask. Fenix does the tightrope walk kick but kicking the steel plate injured his foot. Americano locks in the Ankle Lock. Fenix goes for a springboard cutter but Americano headbutts him with the loaded mask. A flying headbutt with the loaded mask gives Americano the win.

Analysis

B Grade – It is a shame that Rey Fenix has suffered a singles loss so soon into his career, but I understand why. He was only filling in for Rey and it appears this El Grande Americano story will be going on for a little while. This was a fun match, the highlight being of course that crazy 450 moonsault that Americano pulled out.

After the match, Vikingo checks on Rey Fenix and helps him out of the ring.

Commentary recap the announcement of the AAA acquisition as well as the announcement of NXT x AAA Worlds Collide. After, Shawn Michaels comes out to announce the 61,467 Wrestlemania attendance.

The Wrestlemania stage is Barbified, Tiffany Stratton entering in a custom Barbie Doll box. Charlotte Flair arrives in a Rolls Royce and gets a pyro display. Her robe might be the most elegant she has ever had. Flair comes out to overwhelming choruses of boos.

WWE Women’s Championship

This has been a hyped dream match ever since Tiffy’s meteoric rise from NXT to the main roster. Charlotte Flair has been largely absent for the last couple of years due to injury. She was reasonably received after returning to win the 2025 Royal Rumble, but the wrestling fans have very quickly soured on her once again. She cuts the same, generic promos that we have heard for the last 10+ years. Then, there was the awkward split-screen interview where Flair seemingly went into business for herself. Stratton refused to be buried though, in their next segment she was prepared and (with the help of a raucous Chicago crowd) rattled Flair in an alleged shoot promo. The controversy has ignited significantly more interest in this match.

The match begins with a very physical scrap that spills to the outside. Stratton hits Flair mid-flip in the corner with a back elbow. Flair punishes Tiffy on the outside against the barricade. Flair starts to wear down Tiffy in the ring until the champion fights back with a dropkick. A spinebuster by Stratton gets a 2. Stratton’s momentum is cut short by a Big Boot from the Queen. Flair chops away at Stratton, but Stratton shows her heart in this match and refuses to give up. She stops Flair from hitting a moonsault and hits another spinebuster.

Flair hits a great diving crossbody, Tiffy rolls through for a near fall. Flair starts targeting the leg of Stratton and eventually locks in the Figure Four, but the hold is eventually let go. Stratton goes for her Prettiest Moonsault but Flair gets the knees up. Flair hits a diving Natural Selection but Stratton kicks out. Flair misses a spear and collides head first with the turnbuckle. Stratton hits her moonsault and wins her first Wrestlemania match.

Analysis

B Grade – This was a weird one. I am happy to see Tiffany Stratton retain. I think this was a good match that had some raw, authenticity to it. Flair is a phenomenal wrestler and Stratton is great too so I had high hopes for this. The match was a competitive one with plenty of back and forth, reversals and counter. However, Flair was not at her best here. I am not sure if her knee injury was playing up again or what. She was uncharacteristically sloppy here which brought down Tiffy’s game too.

They structured a solid match but I found a lot of their offence to be quite repetitive. A lot of Irish whipping and corner offence, especially by Flair. The set up for the Figure Eight never happened and they only really teased the submission in the final minutes which is unusual for a Flair match. Most of the match was built around Flair trying to go for the moonsault.

I am unsure if this was poor chemistry, their personal issues working against them or an injury but something did not quite click here for me. Still, not bad at all. I am glad it is still Tiffy Time.

The 2025 Hall of Fame inductees are honoured one final time.

Seth Rollins makes his entrance using a flamethrower to “set fire” to his stage. Then he changes from wearing black to white. Roman Reigns has his usual epic entrance. CM Punk gets an amazing video package scored by his old theme music, This Fire Burns! It highlights his WWE career until this moment including his past Wrestlemania performances. He is played to the ring by Living Colour wearing yellow trunks and a hoodie and lead by Paul Heyman. Is this 2012 again? What a nostalgic feeling. Roman Reigns does not hand his Ula Fala to the Wiseman, opting to place it in the corner.

CM Punk vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins

The history between these 3 men dates back to the debut of The Shield in late 2012. The relationship between Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns has went through significant highs and lows over the past 10+ years. Rollins broke up The Shield and has involved himself in 2 of Reigns’ Wrestlemania main event matches. Since his WWE return, CM Punk has been in the crosshairs of The Visionary and they have traded a victory over each other. Punk help Roman defeat Solo’s Bloodline at Survivor Series, but in return of a favour. The favour? The Tribal Chief’s Wiseman Paul Heyman to accompany Punk to the ring for this mega main event. Since then, Seth Rollins claims to have earned a favour by deciding not to stomp Heyman. This is one of the greatest builds to a Wrestlemania match and the result feels completely unpredictable.

The action spills out of the ring and through the crowd. Punk catches Roman in the Anaconda Vice, Rollins frog splashes Reigns for a 2. Roman spears Punk before he can hit a GTS on Rollins. Seth catches Roman mid-spear with a pedigree, followed by a stomp for a great near fall. Punk dodges Reigns who spears Rollins, GTS to Roman gets a near fall! Rollins pedigrees Punk. Seth Rollins shouts at Roman and he references “Mox”. It seems like Rollins has finally convinced Roman to help him take out CM Punk for good, but he punches Rollins and powerbombs Punk through the announce table himself. Roman powerbombs Rollins through the other announce table! Roman drops Rollins a spear and he kicks out!!

All 3 men attempt submissions on each other. Punk stomps Reigns, GTS on Rollins and another kick out. Punk GTS Rollins, Roman spears Punk and Rollins stomps Reigns. Everyone is down and Paul Heyman grabs a steel chair and slides it to Punk, but he low blows Punk!!! Holy Shit! Heyman cries in guilt as Roman laughs. Heyman offers the chair to his Tribal Chief and Roman beats the hell out of Roman.

Once again Roman cannot resist using the chair on Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman low blows him too!!! Heyman puts the chair on Rollins’ extended hand and he sits in the corner. Rollins cracks Roman with the chair, one more stomp and he wins the match.

Analysis

A Grade – A top tier main event match with a jaw-dropping twist at the end. The hatred between all 3 was on full display in this 30 minute war. The first half saw them try and kick the crap out of each other. The final half saw each man refusing to lose the match. We saw finishers galore, I think maybe a little too many finisher kick outs but it put over the fact neither man was willing to lose.

The match was amazing. Brilliant near falls, personal references and call-backs to past feuds. Teasing of a Shield reunion. Then, Paul Heyman made his choice. He screwed over his best friend and he screwed over his Tribal Chief. Seth Rollins is now a Paul Heyman Guy. Paul Heyman is now an ally to the visionary.

Paul Heyman accompanies Seth Rollins up the ramp and they exchange smiles at what they have done. Commentary put over how diabolical both men must be to orchestrate this.

Final Thoughts

B- Overall Grade – I think this was an enjoyable night overall. I think after the stellar Wrestlemania shows we have had over the past couple of years, the bar is incredibly high for this event. Unfortunately, this show is far below the quality of Wrestlemania 39 and 40. That doesn’t mean this show is bad at all however. The only thing about this show that sucked was the World Tag Championship match.

New champions were crowned when they should have been. The show ticked by at an enjoyable pace. Most importantly, the main event absolutely delivered. CM Punk vs Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins is what everyone will be talking about from this show and that is what is important.
