The Shoot pt1
Welcome to the very first shoot! This is a randomly-timed, ill thought out ramblings of a wrestling fan. Let’s crack on.
Step Up
Does WWE have any major stars lurking in the shadows?
I’m thinking of a Cody Rhodes. Look where he was. He was in mid-card hell for years and also went through the whole Stardust phase. I mean, mildly entertaining but not the juggernaut he is now. What did he have to do to get there? Leave the company, set up a rival, sell thousands of tickets, show the world his skills and then return to become the main event star he is now.
They were never going to get him there themselves. Do they ever?
So the question is – are there any others there? Just waiting to show what they can do. To become a huge main event star? Like a Cody?
The Next Big Thing

We know a lot of wrestlers in WWE are held down and held back. That’s just a fact. But they need to build some more top guys. Let’s have a look under the hood.
Aleister Black. The fans seem to absolutely love this guy. We know he can wrestle and cut a decent backstage promo. But can he talk in the ring with a live mic? There is just something holding him back and I can’t put my finger on what it is.
Rusev. Looks less menacing as Rusev compared to Miro and again, something is missing. He doesnt have the likability or ring skill of a Cody. Now he just seems to be doing the same thing every week, that’s if he is featured at all.
Chad Gable. God damn I love Gable. He is finally starting to be used a lot more, before his injury, and I hope that he will be pushed to the moon. He has wrestling skill and the promo talent.
Damian Priest. I would LOVE to see what this guy would do if he was let off the leash. Just say to him “go out there and do what you want” and see what happens. Sink or swim. I literally have no idea if he could be up there. I know his run as champ was…ok, I just want more.
I’m not going to list any more. I’ll listen to what you have to say regarding others. But you get my point. WWE needs more top, top guys like Cody to come along and shake things up and I’d like to see someone step it up and do just that.
In A Palooza

Scheduling drama again! WrestlePalooza is going up against All Out. When it comes to a wrestling show, there is only one winner. Whooooaaa hold on now! I watch WWE as well and have been since 1997 so calm down. Go easy on me please. Take a breather. Ok, let’s carry on now.
I can see why WWE want to do this, to take eyes away from their competition. But I don’t personally see the sense in doing it when we all know the other show is going to outdo theirs. I mean, when was the last WWE PLE to outdo an AEW PPV in wrestling terms? WrestleMania 40 maybe gets a shout but that’s about it. Let me know if I’m wrong. I’m sure you will!
Getting It Right
One thing WWE smashes AEW in though is production and advertising. I mean the quality of the production is insanely good and AEW needs to up their game. The amount of sloppy backstage segments where the mic isn’t quite working needs to stop. They have the money and talent so this shouldn’t be happening.
This is where WWE is flawless.
Getting it wrong

Come on AEW! Last week, MJF falling for Hangman’s trap and using his contract for their match at Forbidden Door was well done TV. This week, the possible murder of Mark Briscoe was just terrible.
I know it’s wrestling and we need to suspended disbelief and all of that, but this was too far. Totally unbelievable. I mean, at least make a trail of petrol (sorry, gas) towards Briscoe and light it and then put it out or something! I’m just kidding of course, but you get my point.
Everyone watching and in the arena thinking, well just let him do it. Well of course he won’t. As that would be murder. So it was just a step too far to be believed.
Naomi

Congratulations to Naomi but wow for timing! I mean, she has clawed and scraped her way to FINALLY get to the very top, and where it FEELS like she truly belongs, and now she is off for up to a year.
Jimmy has a lot to answer for!
The Last of the big thing

Well, the response to Brock returning at SummerSlam has been loud. The fans don’t want him.
He is named in the Vince McMahon scandal involving human trafficking and although it seems his name has been cleared, it is still ongoing. This has not gone down well with fans.
As he heads into a feud with Cena, it’ll be interesting to see how this one develops. Will the fans go nuclear on him at events? I guess we will find out on Smackdown.
