Pyro goes off and we are welcomed to the eighth episode of NWA World Class Championship Wrestling by our commentary team, Ian Riccaboni & Nigel McGuinness. They inform us that Bryan Danielson is in a stable condition, however he is critically injured. They doubt that he will ever wrestle again. Even Nigel McGuiness, Bryan’s number 1 hater, expresses remorse for what happened last week. They move things along as we prepare for the opening contest.
6-Man Battle Royal, NWA Heritage Championship Qualifier – Christian Cage, ‘Powerhouse’ Will Hobbs, Ricky Starks, Miro, Matt Cardona, Bron Steiner
Wrestlers can be eliminated via pinfall, submission or thrown over the top rope. The match begins. Miro gets on his knees and prays to his God to give him the power to win this match. Miro stands and he is cut in half by a spear from Steiner. Bron throws Miro over the top rope, Miro is eliminated immediately. He looks despondent on the outside, slowly walking to the back. Christian, Starks and Cardona end up outside the ring under the bottom rope. Cage and Starks form an alliance to beat up Cardona whilst Hobbs and Steiner have a hoss fight. Steiner gets the better of Hobbs, but from behind slides CM Punk with a face protector on. He low blows Steiner. Hobbs eliminates him. Punk leaves through the crowd.
Cage and Starks go into the ring and work over Hobbs. Both of them hit Hobbs with a spear. They both taunt Hobbs, Starks throws Christian over the top. He is celebrating not realising Cage held on to the ropes. Cage rolls up Starks for a pinfall. As Starks walks up the ramp, Eddie Kingston emerges through the crowd and beats on him with his casted arm until security drags him away. Cage and Hobbs hash it out in the ring, Eventually Cage hits Hobbs with the Unprettier and gets him over the top rope.
Cage thinks he has won, but he has forgotten about Matt Cardona. Cardona rolls up Christian for a close near fall. They go back and forth, Cardona hits Radio Silence for a near fall. He tries to get Christian over the top rope, but Christian escapes and hits an Unprettier and pins Cardona, winning this 20 minute match. Christian Cage is the 5th man in the Heritage match at the Built to Destroy PPV.
Mercedes Mone & The Vendetta Promo
Mercedes comes out flanked by Deonna & Taya. She says she proved last week that money talks and runs this business. She understands that she and the Vendetta got off on the wrong foot in the NWA, but when she sat them down for a conversation she realised that they were all businesswomen at heart. Deonna says that Mone offered them a life changing deal that they were glad to accept. Taya says that as long as the big bucks keep rolling in, they are willing to do anything that Mercedes needs from them. Mone finishes the promo promising in 4 weeks time after Built To Destroy, she will be the new NWA women’s champion.
-Oba Femi tells Dominik that he showed him strength by actually choosing to fight him, when he had no chance of victory. Femi wants Dom to know that he doesn’t need him, but he cannot deny that he likes having Dom around. He is a funny little man. Mysterio asks if they are best friends. Oba Femi says they can stick to being acquaintances for now. He tells Dom to not intervene in his matches and keep him entertained, then Femi will return him the favour.
FTR vs Grizzled Young Veterans
FTR are riding high with 3 consecutive victories and they’re confident coming into a 4th match. Gibson and Drake of course use cheap tactics whenever they can to pick their opponents apart. After 15 minutes, the referee gets distracted by a loose turnbuckle pad in the corner. Zack Gibson brings a chair into the ring, Cash Wheeler fights to get it off him but fails. Gibson takes the chair, whacks it against the mat and throws it to Cash. As the referee turns around, he sees Gibson falling to the floor and Cash with a chair in hand. He views this as enough evidence to disqualify FTR and award the GYVs a win. Not only do the veterans gain 2 points, but FTR loses 1 point for the DQ. GYV are on 4 points, FTR are on 5.
-Hikaru Shida interview about her win last week. She is very proud of her performance. She admits that her arm is not at 100% but she will fight with all she has to become the champion.
Sting promo
Sting comes out and apologises to the fans, he wishes he stopped the match earlier. He got there as quickly as he could, but he couldn’t save Bryan in time. Walter interrupts with a huge smile wrapped across his face. Walter tells Sting that he has nothing to be sorry for. In fact, we should be thanking him. Because of his actions, Walter has successfully retired an old weak little man who should have stuck to his General Managing duties. Walter gives Sting one opportunity to leave and get out of his ring now or risk joining Danielson. Sting stares him down, but ultimately leaves.
Jeff Cobb interrupts Walter before he is able to speak anymore. Cobb says Walter has been able to dominate significantly smaller wrestlers so far. Next week will not be so easy. Walter praises Cobb’s strength, but it won’t be enough. They exchange blows, Cobb press-slams Walter and proves how powerful he is. Walter rolls out and stares in awe at the powerhouse opponent.
Authors of Pain w/Paul Ellering vs The Acclaimed
Max Caster has a rap prepared for us and it goes a little like this; “The Authors of Pain are too illiterate to write, their favourite book is the third Twilight. Akam & Rezar, which one’s which? Who cares I’ll make both ya’ll my bitch. After our win I’ll hit you up Paul, so I can give your hot ass daughter a call. The Acclaimed ain’t gonna lose to these, there’s more chance Colorado Rockies win a world series.” Max Caster blows a kiss to the camera and says “Hi Rachel” referencing Paul Ellering’s daughter again. The Acclaimed are the faster team, but the AOP are stronger and more experienced. Plus having Ellering always helps. The AOP hit the Super Collider after 10 minutes to win the match. The AOP take first place in the World Tag League with 6 points.
Eddie Kingston promo
Eddie Kingston has accepted to be removed out of the arena on the grounds he is given some time on the microphone to vent. Kingston is escorted to the ring by security. He tells Ricky Starks and the NWA that he will never stop causing chaos until he gets his hands on Starks again. Kingston knows he won’t be cleared because of his arm, but he is willing to come to some sort of agreement where he will sign any waivers and makes it illegal go use his casted hand. He challenges Starks to a match at Built To Destroy. Ricky Starks comes out and tries to fight, but the security are able to keep them separate from one another.
–Chelsea Green says that it was an injustice that AJ Lee was even allowed into the match and she wants to be given another opportunity. Mercedes Mone and The Vendetta walk by and Green tries to ask a question but she is ignored. Mone and the Vendetta make their way to a lavish limo where Tiffany Stratton is waiting. She calls herself the future of the women’s division and she wants to buy-in to what Mercedes is setting up. ‘The Boss’ tells Tiffy to hand in a resume, then they will talk.
-Commentary run down the scheduled card for next week. Walter vs Jeff Cobb, Mercedes Mone vs Hikaru Shida, 2 matches in the World Tag League and Jim Cornette’s Drive Thru segment.
Chad Gable vs MJF, NWA World Title Tournament Semi-Final
MJF low blows Gable before the bell and immediately Gable is on the back foot from the start. Anytime Gable is able to gain momentum, MJF cheats to retake control. Gable is the superior wrestler though and he is able to out wrestle MJF at every opportunity. He targets the ankle throughout, not noticeable at first but as the match progresses MJF finds it harder to stay standing straight. Gable hits the Olympic Slam and transitions into the Ankle lock. MJF tries his best to escape but he cannot. Eventually MJF taps, Gable wins after 22 minutes and progresses to the tournament finals.
