Fixing WWE Divisions Part 2: World Tag Team Division
As I said before, WWE’s divisions have gone downhill since 2024. It’s time to turn things around. This time, I’m focusing on the deadest division in WWE right now: the World Tag Team Division.
Before diving in, here’s what I’ll cover:
- The division itself
- When the decline began
- What the division needs
- How I’d fix it
The Division Itself
Looking at the roster, the division isn’t as weak as many think. Here are the current teams:

- Alpha Academy
- American Made (Creed Brothers)
- Judgement Day (Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh)
- LWO
- New Catch Republic
- New Day
- The Vision
- War Raiders
Judgement Day currently hold the tag titles. But when it comes to babyface challengers, there are only three: LWO, War Raiders, and New Catch Republic. None of them feel like serious contenders. That could mean another long reign with almost no defenses — and that’s the problem.
When Did the Division Start Going Down?
The slide started last year. Judgement Day beat Awesome Truth for the belts. Around that time, Bálor also began his never-ending feud with Damian Priest. That meant he and JD barely defended the titles.
The belts then went to the War Raiders. They only had one standout defense against Dominik and JD before dropping the titles to New Day. New Day did little with the belts too, and then Judgement Day won them back. That makes three failed attempts to fix the division.
What Does the Division Need?
The answer is simple: a reset.
- Judgement Day need to drop the belts to a fresh heel team.
- One heel team should turn face to even things up.
- The division needs regular weekly matches to feel alive again.
How I’d Reset the Division
It starts with The Vision. On Raw, Seth Rollins announces that Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed will challenge for the tag titles to revive the division. Judgement Day interrupt, leading to a tense standoff.
On the go-home Raw before Wrestlepalooza, The Vision beat Judgement Day and win the gold. This sets the stage for Finn Bálor to finally split from the group, possibly feuding with Dominik Mysterio and even AJ Styles.
Meanwhile, Rey Fenix and Andrade move to Raw to back up Penta. The Lucha Bros reunite, and Andrade shifts his focus to the Intercontinental Title.
As champions, The Vision face every major team:
- The Vision vs New Day
- The Vision vs LWO (with Rey Mysterio possibly targeting Seth Rollins for the World Title)
- The Vision vs Alpha Academy
- The Vision vs New Catch Republic at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Boston
Around Royal Rumble season, the Creed Brothers get a big push. They win week after week and make a strong showing in the Rumble, clashing with Rey Fenix, Penta, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed.
This sparks a heated triple threat rivalry between The Creeds, The Lucha Bros, and The Vision. It builds across singles and tag matches before peaking at WrestleMania in a Triple Threat Ladder Match:
- The Lucha Bros vs The Creed Brothers vs The Vision (c)

The Payoff
At WrestleMania, the Lucha Bros win the WWE Tag Team Titles. Their global reputation and fast-paced style bring prestige and excitement back to the division. For the first time in years, the World Tag Team Division feels alive again.
