AEW: What’s Next? Issue 1# All In Fantasy Booking
Double or Nothing is in the books and we look ahead to AEWs next event, their biggest event of the year, AEW ALL IN. Just under 7 weeks away.

What should we be expecting?
We have two matches confirmed for the show. Let’s start with the AEW World Championship.
Jon Moxley vs ‘Hangman’Adam Page – AEW World Championship
We are taking a break from Ospreays ascension to focus on Hangman’s redemption. Will Hangman be the man to final put an end to the Death Riders reign and bring back the AEW World Championship to our TV screens? I sure hope so. Hangman made a pretty bloody good case for himself needing to win that belt and All In would be the best place for it. You’ll send the crowd home happy and the main character of AEW will finally hold the gold and be back on top.
What if he doesn’t win?
If Jon Moxley and his infinite amount of back up manage to beat Hangman, and his team AEW back up, I don’t think a Darby Allin return will be enough to fix the disappointment in the arena. If it’s not Hangman, then it’ll be Darby who beats Mox in the end. He’s long been suspected to be the one to take the title off Mox but since he missed the Owen tournament, I don’t think AEW could tell a better story than Hangman winning at All In.
I hope AEW pull the trigger on Hangman at All In. I’m sure Darby understands that he will have his time, but since he had personal goals he wanted to achieve, AEW can’t just pause creative.
Toni Storm vs Mercedes Mone – AEW Women’s Championship
I understand this is the biggest match AEW could do, but it’s a little unfortunate that both women’s champions are tied to the same match. I’ll give AEW the benefit of the doubt that there will be another significant women’s match on the card. Maybe some fantasy booking later.
Despite what I just said, I am very excited for this match. The two biggest stars in the division are going to face one another, it’s not just the match itself but the promos for this will be incredible, as proven by this week’s Dynamite face to face. I cannot wait for Toni to tell us what experiences she’s had with CEOs in the past.
I hope this match goes Toni Storms way. I believe Jaime Hayter was right, and Mercedes is about to lose all her gold. It will be a good story for her, and the first loss will come here.
What about the rest of the Women’s Divison?
With both titles tied up the chances for other women’s matches is slim, but i have hope. The best we can do here is fantasy book.
Megan Bayne has been a focal point in the division. Now Thelka has shown up and attacked Jaime Hayter we have another women’s story to focus on, but what does this mean for All In? My hope is that AEW give the women a chance to do a Stadium Stampede and bring together all these stories, feature as many women as we can. Something like this:
Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, Thelka, Julia Hart & Skye Blue vs Jaime Hayter, Harley Cameron, Anna Jay, Thunder Rosa & Hikaru Shida?
Something like this could give the women another shining light besides the world title match and would be tons of fun, like most women’s hardcore matches are. We could also see Athena or Kris Statlander in this match.
Alternative Option:
One other thing that could happen is a Casino Gaunlet match for a shot at the TBS Championship? This also gets a lot of women on the card.
I could be completely wrong and maybe they build another women’s 1 on 1 match, but I personally would love to see something bigger.
Omega vs Okada V
This match is all but confirmed by AEW. It’s been teased for a few months now and I’m very excited. This match will probably be title for title and leave us with a Title Unification, hopefully. The match itself could go either way, despite online talk about Okada and Omega being older, these two can still go and go hard. I expect a banger. It could even steal the show.
Everything Else
It’s unclear what will happen with the rest of the roster, but that just means more fantasy booking!
SWERVE & OSPREAY
With the development of Swerve confronting Hangman on Dynamite and Ospreays involvement. I imagine we are in for a lot of big moments between these 3 and the Death Riders + Elite. Come All In, I have no doubt that Hangman will need help to count the numbers of the Death Riders.
The biggest moment possible, in my opinion, would be Swerve having to decide between hitting Mox or Hangman with a House Call, with Ospreay outside the ring begging him to do the right thing. That would be a moment. Followed by Swerve giving Hangman the same nod of approval that Matt Jackson gave him when he beat Kenny Omega for his first World Championship.
Outside of the main event, my hope is that Ospreay and Swerve face the Young Bucks at the PPV, I think this could be an amazing match and big to the overall story of the show.
TNT Championship
This belt could be going anywhere. It could be around the waist of Adam Cole or Kyle Fletcher or even Ricochet by All In time. Whatever the case, we need to get some more numbers on the card. Let’s have a 6 man ladder match, calling back to Adam Coles first title victory on TV, the North American championship 6 man ladder match.
In this match I have:
Adam Cole(c) vs Kyle Fletcher vs Ricochet vs Mark Briscoe vs Mike Bailey vs Jack Perry
Any 6 people will do, it all depends on where the rest of the card goes. Last year, on the main show, AEW only had Championship matches. Or for the chance at fighting for it. We will continue with that logic and talk about a The Tag Team Championship now.
AEW Tag Team Championship
The Hurt Syndicate have been dominating the division and they haven’t even really been tested yet. That should change at All In. I propose a 4way Tag Team match.
Hurt Syndicate vs Hounds of Hell vs FTR vs Takeshita/Josh Alexander
Kyle Fletcher could be swapped in for Josh Alexander but I think he should be in TNT Title contention and win that title at All In. I’m also hoping that Buddy Mathews has returned by this point. Paragon, Strong and O’Reilly, could also be swapped out for another team here. As far as the winner of this match goes, It’d be nice to see the Hurt Syndicate win again, but perhaps a better story could be them losing, not being pinned, but losing and MJF being somewhat to blame…
AEW Trios Championship
The Opps make for great champions right now. They’ve also been feuding with the Death Riders and I don’t suspect them helping in taking down the Death Riders is over. I suspect we may get another Opps vs Death Riders match here, but this time The Death Riders line a little differently.
The Opps vs Claudio/Yuta/Gabe Kidd
In the finish I wouldn’t be shocked if Bullet Club get involved, given Gabe Kidd being here and the future Forbidden Door event coming up in Late August. Giving the Death Riders the championships back. Might give some people some doubt that Hangman will win in the main event.
What’s Left?
The only other option I can think of is a men Casino Gauntlet match, they could do this and a women’s on the same night but I suspect only 1 gender will get a Casino Gauntlet. It’s a great way to get more people on the card and AEW put on banger Gauntlet matches.
In Conclusion
AEW have a lot going for them right now, their weekly show is having a phenomenal few months of A+ TV and with the build to All In finally here, I’m sure it’ll only be getting better. Issue #2 will be back after All In but until then you can look forward to AEW Fyter Fest next week!
