It’s the day of AEW Dynasty and here we are going to run through the card and make some predictions. (This is the author’s opinion) if you have any thoughts – let us know in the comments!

Roderick Strong vs Kyle O’ReillyInternational Championship
Hook vs Chris JerichoFTW Championship
Adam Copeland, Mark Briscoe & Eddie Kingston vs House of Black6 Man Tag
Kazuchika Okada vs PacContinental Championship
Julia Hart vs Willow NightingaleTBS Championship
FTR vs The Young BucksLadder Match for the Tag Team Championships
Will Ospreay vs Bryan DanielsonSingles Match
‘Timeless’ Toni Storm vs Thunder RosaWomen’s World Championship
Samoa Joe vs Swerve StricklandAEW World Championship

Kyle O’Reilly returned last month to wrestling action after a long layoff in which his career was seriously threatened. His return from injury is a welcome one, and instead of aligning himself with his former allies in Strong and the Kingdom, he decided to go it alone.

This has naturally disturbed the slightly unhinged Strong, leading to this match at Dynasty. After seeing these two go at it (albeit in small portions) on Collision, I am left excited to see these two tear it up like we know they can. They know each other well and the trust will be there for them to put on a banger. Strong will retain though, perhaps some shenanigans from The Kingdom, and Strong is just getting started with this title reign.

Roderick Strong retains.

It seems the fans have well and truly had enough of Chris Jericho. The boos are getting louder and the online hate is getting more intense. He now has that ‘go away’ heat. He comes up against Hook, who needs these kinds of matches to help his development.

Jericho is trying to help Hook by guiding him from ‘the learning tree’ but I feel a Jericho win would not be a great move for Hook at this moment. They should be slowly building him up, not taking his title.

Hook retains.

I’m hoping this is a fun match to watch that doesn’t go too long. Copeland, Briscoe & Kingston have teamed up well and delivered some cool promos, and House of Black have responded in kind. I feel House of Black could win this one, with a future match at Double or Nothing between Malakai Black and Copeland.

House of Black win.

Okada joined AEW to much fanfare a few weeks back, and his introduction to AEW has been one of the better debuts in recent times. Coming in and aligning himself with The Elite, and winning the Continental Championship, it’s been an impactful debut and now he puts it on the line against the returning PAC.

It’s great to have PAC back, however, I can’t see Okada dropping the title so soon. I think they will put on an incredible match, with no interference (due to the Continental rules) and Okada will retain.

Okada retains.

The TBS championship has been in good hands with Julia Hart, but I feel her reign may be in grave danger here. Hart has steadily been improving over the past year and at just 22 years old, she has quite a career ahead of her. Willow will get the win here, with a match against Mone at Double or Nothing up next. The story for that one is already there as Mone got injured against Willow and was on the shelf for nearly a year.

Willow Nightingale wins the TBS title.

Well this has had quite a build, hasn’t it!?

The Bucks showed the infamous ALL IN footage of Punk and Jack Perry and the internet has exploded. Most seem in agreement that it shouldn’t have been shown, but The Bucks have woven it into their story with FTR.

With both teams working their way through the tag team tournament, we arrive at Dynasty for the titles in what surely will be a fantastic ladder match. My only question is, will we see the scapegoat join the Elite?

I feel this one may be going to The Bucks, with an appearance from Jack Perry, who will join the Elite. I feel The Bucks can have more intriguing storylines in future weeks with the titles than what FTR could at this moment.

The Young Bucks win.

Will Ospreay has made a great impact since joining AEW and has had banger after banger. Bryan Danielson is one of the very best in the world, ever. Ospreay’s high-flying, high-impact syle is in contrast to Danielson’s methodical, grind you down and kick you in the head style and makes for a fascinating match.

If this truly is Danielson’s last year in pro wrestling, I don’t think he can go out losing every match. He needs some big wins to show that he really is one of the best ever. I think he should actually win this match (I think it will be an incredible match, so fans will want another) and then put over Ospreay at a later date before he rides into the sunset.

Bryan Danielson wins.

Toni Storm has been tearing it up as the Women’s World Champion and her promos have been gold. She really has transformed from being a part of The Outcasts, into a memorable and worthy champion. Thunder Rosa has put in some good performances since returning, and is a huge threat. However, I can’t see Storm losing this title yet. Her work is the best of her career and she is leading the women’s division into the future.

Toni Storm wins.

I cannot wait for this one!! Samoa Joe is incredible. When you need a dependable, bad-ass person to steer you through some tricky times, there is no-one better than Joe. He is incredible in the ring and on the mic. He is one of the few, genuine bad-ass wrestlers who you think would break you in half with their little finger.

But….Swerve has been building momentum for the past year. His feud with Hangman Page has been epic and elevated all involved. This is surely now Swerve’s time to win the championship. His work in the ring and in promos has been top-level for some time now.

Will Hangman Page return to cost Swerve again? It would be the ultimate heel move and cement Hangman’s view that he will ensure Swerve will never become champion.

I think it has to be time now for AEW to pull the trigger on Swerve as champion.

Swerve wins the AEW Championship.
