Biography
Nick Jackson, the younger half of The Young Bucks, heads into the final months of 2026 as one of the AEW World Tag Team Champions. He and his older brother Matt won the titles for a record fourth time in a three-way ladder match at All Out on 26 September 2026, beating Adam Copeland and Christian Cage as well as FTR, and turned back Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher at WrestleDream on 17 October. Away from the cameras the brothers are also co-founders and executive vice presidents of the company.
Born Nicholas Massie in Montebello, California, Nick grew up wrestling his brothers in a backyard ring the family set up in 2001. While Matt trained at Revolution Pro's Rudos Dojo, Nick picked up much of his craft from his brother and a handful of sessions at the school, and he was a teenager when he worked his first show in August 2004, playing a masked referee. The brothers soon learned on the job at their own small promotion, High Risk Wrestling, before making their names in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, where they won the PWG World Tag Team Championship four times and the Dynamite Duumvirate tournament on three occasions. A run in TNA as Generation Me, with Nick billed as Jeremy Buck, did not take off, but their high-speed, superkick-heavy style was turning heads everywhere else.
The breakthrough came in New Japan Pro-Wrestling from 2013. Joining Bullet Club, the Bucks won the Super Jr. Tag Tournament on debut and went on to a record seven IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship reigns, as well as three ROH World Tag Team title wins in Ring of Honor. Alongside Kenny Omega they formed The Elite, and in 2018 they moved up to New Japan's heavyweight tag ranks and captured the IWGP Tag Team Championship. That same year Nick and Matt co-promoted All In with Cody Rhodes, the independent show that paved the way for AEW's launch in January 2019.
In AEW the Bucks have been the benchmark of the tag division. They won their first AEW tag titles from FTR at Full Gear 2020, were the inaugural AEW World Trios Champions with Omega in 2022 and have been involved in a string of matches rated five stars or higher by Dave Meltzer, including the title match against Omega and Hangman Adam Page at Revolution 2020, which got six stars. In 2024 they turned on Omega and reinvented themselves as smug executives, winning the tag titles a third time before Nick stepped away late that year to recover from a shoulder injury.
The brothers returned in 2025 as allies of Jon Moxley's Death Riders, and losing to Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland at All In: Texas cost them their kayfabe executive powers. They turned babyface at Full Gear 2025 by saving Omega, reuniting the original Elite trio, and spent 2026 chasing the tag belts before regaining them at All Out. Nick goes into the rest of autumn 2026 as a champion once again.
