KENNY
OMEGA

Born and raised in Transcona, Winnipeg, Tyson Smith grew up obsessed with wrestling, anime and video games — passions that would go on to define one of the most creative in-ring careers in wrestling history. He debuted in 2000 on the Canadian independent scene, had a brief and unhappy stint in WWE’s developmental system mid-decade, and then found his calling when DDT Pro-Wrestling in Japan came calling in 2008. It was there that he formed the Golden Lovers tag team with Kota Ibushi, a partnership that became one of wrestling’s most beloved stories. His career exploded when he joined NJPW’s Bullet Club in 2014 as “The Cleaner,” eventually taking over leadership of the stable and ascending to become the promotion’s top star. His series of matches with Kazuchika Okada between 2017 and 2018 produced some of the most celebrated bouts in modern wrestling history, earning previously unheard-of star ratings and cementing Omega’s reputation as a generational talent. He became IWGP Heavyweight Champion in 2018 before departing for AEW, where he was a founding executive vice president and became the promotion’s first Undisputed Champion. Known for his in-ring ability and technical prowess, he is regarded as one of the best professional wrestlers of all time.
