WWE Royal Rumble 2025 Results & Review

Here are the results for the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana

Lilian Garcia introduces Stephanie McMahon. She hypes up Indianapolis for making this the biggest WWE Royal Rumble in history. She welcomes us to the show. We get a pyro display before the introduction package rolls.

Pat McAfee narrates over the cold open promo package. He hypes up Indianapolis, WWE and the Royal Rumble match. It was fine.

Michael Cole introduces us to the 38th WWE Royal Rumble alongside Wade Barrett and Pat McAfee.

Women’s WWE Royal Rumble

1-10

Entrant number 1 is Iyo Sky, this would be a great pick for the iron-woman of the match. She got a great crowd reaction. Entrant number 2 is Liv Morgan, a great starting duo. They have a back and forth encounter. Roxanne Perez enters 3rd. She takes out both Iyo and Liv. Liv drops Perez with a codebreaker. Lyra Valkyria enters at number 4.

She hit a cool corner DDT into a fisherman’s suplex. Lyra had some sort of wardrobe malfunction, so she has been shoved into the corner by Liv so it can be fixed. Entrant 5 is Chelsea Green. She takes her time heading to the ring. She has slaps for everyone and is then beaten up by everyone.

Entrant 6 is B-Fab and the crowd went mild. She goes after her rival Chelsea Green before mixing up with the rest of the women. She should go back to NXT, she’s too green for the main roster. Entrant 7 is Ivy Nile and targets the IC champion Lyra. Ivy hits a double German suplex to Green and Perez.

She has great potential. Entrant 8 is Zoey Stark with 4 paint lines on her face. It looks a little silly. She attacks everyone. No eliminations yet as entrant 9 enters, NXT’s Lash Legend! I’m hyped. She goes on a hot streak and she looks great. She swings Ivy Nile around as a weapon. Lash and B-Fab double pump kick each other, Green eliminates B-Fab to a huge pop.

Entrant 10 is women’s tag champion, Bianca Belair. She goes after a bunch of women. She does a series of flips and corner punches onto 4 women. That was a fun spot.

11-20

Shayna Baszler enters at 11. She and Stark double team the other women. Stark botches a springboard but recovers well with a clothesline. Ivy Nile eliminates Lyra Valkyria. Bayley enters at number 12. She immediately goes after Roxanne Perez before we see a face off between Bayley and Iyo Sky. Pure Fusion Collective (Stark and Baszler) attack them.

Entrant 13 is the final member of the PFC, Sonya Deville. She has stiff strikes for everybody. Pure Fusion Collective work together to dominate the Rumble. Entrant 14 is Maxxine Dupri. Ivy Nile wants her to herself. Dupri hits Nile with a reverse caterpillar and eliminates herto a huge reaction. PFC eliminate Maxxine.

Women’s tag champ Naomi is entrant 15. Bianca, Naomi, Bayley and Iyo Sky work together to eliminate Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville. Entrant 16 is NXT’s Jaida Parker. She mixes it up with some of the main roster stars and decides to align with Lash Legend. They stand off with Bianca and Naomi. Chelsea Green tries to make allies, but she is beaten up.

Green eliminates Lash Legend. Just as Bianca and Naomi close in on Green, her ally Piper Niven enters at entrant 17. Niven takes out the tag champions and anyone else on her own. Naomi nearly eliminates Green, Piper tries to run and save her but Naomi moves. Piper eliminates Chelsea!

Entrant 18 is Bret Hart! No wait, it is Natalya. She mixes it up with everybody. Entrant 19 is Jordynne Grace! It is confirmed she is officially a WWE roster member. She dominates everyone in the match. Grace eliminates Jaida Parker. She lifts Piper Niven with a Death Valley Driver with ease! “Holy Shit!” Naomi and Jordynne Grace embrace, but Bianca pulls Grace away by her hair! Number 20 is Michin.

21-30

Entrant 21 is Alexa Bliss! Holy Shit! The crowd is going NUTS. Alexa looks incredible. I’m glad to see her back. Bliss takes out Bayley. She looks as good as ever. Entrant 22 is Zelina Vega. Her outfits are always great. She drops Grace with a top rope Code Red. Entrant 23 is Candice LeRae. She hits a few moves before joining the herd. Stephanie Vaquer from NXT enters at 24. She hits her signature offence and does it well. Trish Stratus returns at 25! She gets an ovation and goes after Natalya. She looks great.

Raquel Rodriguez enters at 26. She saves Liv from elimination. Liv eliminates Natalya with a codebreaker on the apron. Liv eliminates Alexa Bliss with a codebreaker on the apron! Heavy boos there. Entrant 27 is the returning queen, Charlotte Flair. She gets pyro! Flair is sporting a knee brace. She has chops for everyone. She boots Michin off the apron for the elimination. Flair looks incredible, absolute goddess mode. Flair eliminates Piper Niven.

Entrant 28 is NXT women’s champion Giulia. She mixes it up with Iyo Sky, a singles match I would very much like to see in WWE. Giulia eliminates Jordynne Grace. Giulia, Perez and Vaquer square off with Flair, Bayley and Bianca. WWE vs NXT get into a brawl. Nia Jax enters at 29. She eliminates Zelina Vega without entering the ring. Trish Stratus eliminates Candice LeRae. Nia Jax eliminates Stratus with an assist from Candice LeRae.

The Final Entrant

The 30th women is…Nikki Bella? “The most courageous women ever in WWE.” Have I missed something? Fair enough, this is her first match in 3 years. Everyone works together to beat down Nia Jax. Nia Jax eliminates Stephanie Vaquer, Iyo Sky, Bianca Belair, Naomi, Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan pretty much all at once.

Perez and Giulia stop fighting to try and eliminate Flair. Perez eliminates Giulia. Nikki Bella goes after Nia Jax but eliminates Bayley instead. Nia Jax eliminates Nikki Bella. Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair and Roxanne Perez remain. Perez targets Flair’s knee. Flair eliminates Nia Jax. Perez is still on the apron and cannot survive, Flair boots her off the apron and wins the Women’s WWE Royal Rumble.

Analysis

B Grade – It was a fun Rumble that didn’t drag much. The first third was a little slow. I liked the NXT representation and we got some surprise returns. Alexa Bliss should have been given a little more than just the pop entrance. I expected to see Becky Lynch or Jade Cargill here, I am shocked we saw neither.

There was some good story progression. It was a good match. It could have been better. Roxanne gets a great rub being the final person eliminated and the record time in a women’s rumble whilst still being in NXT. I see big things for her in 2025 on the main roster.

#DIY (c) vs Motor City Machine Guns, 2 Out of 3 Falls for WWE Tag Team Championships

Fall One

I am excited for this one. Give these lads at least 20 minutes I beg. Let them work their magic. The challengers start off strong with tandem kicks and a huge dive by Sabin onto DIY. Ciampa catches Sabin with an apron DDT for a 2. Ciampa drops Sabin with a clothesline for a 2. Sabin tags Shelley, Gargano fakes a tag to confuse Shelley. Ciampa hits a running knee strike for the first fall. Smart heel tactics.

Fall Two

DIY continue to dominate by wearing down Shelley with double team moves. Shelley hits DIY with a DDT/STO combo. Ciampa distracts the referee from the tag. DIY hit Shelley with a Shatter Machine! Shout out FTR. It gets a near fall. Shelley reverses Gargano’s spear with a superkick.

Shelley finally gets the tag. He drops DIY with penalty kicks and a huge springboard from the corner to the outside. Shelley DDTs Ciampa on the apron, Sabin hits a top rope tornado DDT to Gargano. MCMGs hit Skull & Bones and pin Gargano. It is 1-1.

Fall Three

Kicks and knees are thrown by all 4 men on each other. A superkick into a Fairytale Ending by DIY but the pin is broken up. Ciampa hits Project Ciampa for a great near fall. Some great tag team wrestling by the Machine Guns. They hit a powerbomb/blockbuster combo in the corner, but Gargano breaks the pin!

This match is awesome! Gargano accidentally superkicks Ciampa! MCMG hit their signature strike combo. They go for Skull & Bones, the Street Profits appear! Montez Ford distracts the referee as Angelo Dawkins attacks with a crutch! DIY hit Meet in the Middle to retain.

Street Profits then attack DIY after the match, holding up the championships on the ramp.

Analysis

A- Grade – Oh it was almost everything I wanted it to be until the end. I understand why, Street Profits want to be the one to take the titles away from DIY, it just feels a little deflating after an amazing match like that. Let’s hope we get a proper clean blow off between DIY and the MCMGs in the future. I guess we’re setting up a multi-tag match at Wrestlemania since DIY have got themselves a lot of enemies and challengers. Still, the match was incredible. Although, wish the crowd was more invested.

Cody Rhodes (c) vs Kevin Owens, Ladder match for Undisputed WWE Championship

The video package for this is incredible. I’m getting Wrestlemania ‘My Way’ vibes from this. Both the WWE Undisputed Championship and the Winged Eagle title are hung above the ring. Owens and Rhodes go face to face and they get into a brawl to start. The fight spills outside, Owens scoop slams Cody onto the ladder. Owens uses part of the ladder as a weapon.

Cody throws Owens over the barricade and they fight into the crowd. Beer to the face by Cody! Owens slams Cody into the camera. Cody stops Owens climbing a ladder and throws him head first into it. Owens tells Michael Cole “I’m not losing it! I’m winning it all bitch!” Owens sets up a ladder bridge from the apron to the announce table.

Owens beats up Cody with a mini ladder. He climbs the mini ladder and teases a mini splash but flips off the crowd. Owens back suplexes Cody on the mini ladder. Owens pulls Cody off the ladder into a pop-up powerbomb! Awesome. I wish the fans would stfu about tables. Cody suplexes Owens onto a ladder. Cody breaks off a rung of the ladder to use as a weapon. Owens hits Cody with Dusty Rhodes’ signature strikes then a head shot with the ladder rung.

Escalating Violence

Cody counters the piledriver, backdropping Owens onto the edge of a ladder. it is an ugly bump. Ouch. Owens powerbombs Cody onto an apron-draped ladder! It scrapes up Cody’s back and hits the back of the head. That looked even uglier! This is brutal. Owens builds a second ladder bridge between the ropes and a set-up ladder, parallel to the first ladder bridge.

Owens hits Rhodes with a top rope fisherman’s buster through the second ladder bridge! Nick Aldis and officials come out to check on the competitors. Sami Zayn is here too! He checks on both men. Rhodes counters the stunner into a Cross Rhodes.

The fight continues on the outside of the ring. Owens is now busted open. Rhodes has snapped and unloads punches on Owen’s wound. KO with a low blow to Rhodes. Cody counters the piledriver, he drops Owens with an Alabama Slam through the first ladder bridge! Holy shit! Cody Rhodes makes the climb and pulls down the championships to retain the WWE championship.

Analysis

A+ Grade – This was aggressive, violent, uncomfortable and brutal in all of the best ways. The match absolutely matched the intensity of the feud. The ladder spots got more and more insane. This was a classic in ladder matches. Proof that you don’t have to always have high spots and tables to have a top tier ladder match. They went out there and tortured each other for our pleasure. It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Owens next and how his relationship with Sami Zayn will evolve from here.

Men’s WWE Royal Rumble

1-10

Rey Mysterio is entrant 1, the spot he won from in 2006. Entrant number 2 is Penta! What a way to start the Rumble. They shake hands. The crowd are hyped. They have an incredible mini 2 minute match, Penta touched the floor with 1 foot! Entrant 3 is Chad Gable, notoriously cannot beat luchadors. Gable fights them both himself, but the luchadors double team him.

Entrant 4 is Carmelo Hayes. He takes the fight to Penta and Rey then forms an alliance with Gable which lasts about 30 seconds. Number 5 is Santos Escobar. He reignites his feud with Rey, hitting him with a 619. We get Santos vs Penta. Escobar hits his own Mexican Destroyer. Gable his hit by 4 superkicks at once.

Everyone is down as number 6 enters, Otis. Gable stops him from doing the worm, the former partners getting into it. Hayes and Gable regroup to fight Otis. Entrant 7 is Bron Breakker. HOO HOO HOO! He drills Hayes with a spear and eliminates him. Frankensteiner to Gable.

He spears Santos Escobar and eliminates him. Akira Tozawa is entrant 8, but he is attacked by Carmelo Hayes from behind. He is taken to the back and will not be part of the match. Someone has to replace him. Streamer iShowSpeed is backstage and Triple H tells him to replace him.

Fair enough. He helps Bron Breakker eliminate Otis. Speed and Breakker bark at each other. Bron Breakker MURDERS HIM WITH A SPEAR. Hilarious. Bron press slams Speed out of the ring onto Otis, who drops him on the announce table and is eliminated.

Entrant 9 is Sheamus. He has beats of the Bodhran for Gable and Breakker before taking out Penta and Rey. Entrant 10 is Jimmy Uso. He has offence for anyone in sight.

11-20

Andrade is entrant 11, he comes in hot with meteoras for everyone. Entrant 12 is Jacob Fatu. He does a double Samoan drop to Penta and Rey! He’s a beast. Fatu eliminates Gable, Mysterio and Andrade. Fatu and Breakker stare down as entrant 13 arrives, Ludwig Kaiser. He stays out of the ring. He tries to ambush Penta but it backfires. Penta eliminates Kaiser in quick fashion. Number 14 is The Miz. He mocks Bron Breakker’s barking. Fatu catches him mid air with a Samoan drop. Fatu is getting some big crowd reactions.

Number 15 is the TNA World Champion Joe Hendry!!! We believe! A huge pop for him. Sheamus is just watching having a good time. Fatu drops Hendry. Sheamus says “I was enjoying that! Why are you so angry?” Entrant 16 is the OTC, Roman Reigns. OH BABY IT IS GO TIME.

He gets pyro and strolls down with Heyman at his side. Roman spears Miz and eliminates him. He spears Sheamus and eliminates him. He spears Hendry and eliminates him. Reigns and Breakker stare down. Bron speared him! Reigns counters and eliminates Bron! Jimmy helps Roman up but Fatu eliminates Jimmy. Reigns and Fatu stare down! THIS IS AWESOME.

Roman spears Fatu as entrant 17 comes out, Drew McIntyre. “It began with you, it will end with you” says Drew. Fatu and Drew form an alliance to double team Roman Reigns. Entrant 18 is Finn Balor, he also joins in on the assault on Roman. Entrant 19 is United States champion Shinsuke Nakamura.

He and Penta go head to head. Penta uses Balor as a step to hit Fatu with a Mexican Destroyer. Balor eliminates Penta, a good showing for him. Entrant 20 is Jey Uso. He takes down Fatu with a poison rana. Jey eliminates Nakamura.

21-30

AJ Styles is back at number 21, he is using his good music once again! He looks great. He takes out everyone except for Fatu. Entrant 22 is Braun Strowman, ready for revenge. He eliminates Jacob Fatu! Fatu has a breakdown at ringside. Everyone teams up on Strowman. Number 23 is John Cena. The place comes unglued. He eliminates Strowman.

He hits Balor with an AA out and eliminates him. I think Braun was supposed to catch him. Roman and Cena go face to face as entrant 24 arrives. CM Punk. I do not think I can even cope. Punk, Cena and Reigns stare each other down. They don’t even engage by the time 25 enters, Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins. Punk is livid, so is Reigns. Rollins goes after Punk, Cena goes after Reigns. Drew also goes after Punk. This Rumble is STACKED.

Entrant 26 is Dominik Mysterio. Oh boy. He hits Cena with the Frog Splash. He tries Three Amigos on Reigns, he drops him with a Samoan Drop. Entrant 27 is Sami Zayn. He takes out McIntyre and Rollins with Helluva kicks before brawling with Punk.

Damian Priest is entrant 28. He goes on a tear, he reverses a 619 attempt by Dom and eliminates him. Entrant 29 is LA Knight, YEAH. He drops an elbow on Cena then resumes his rivalry with AJ Styles. We get a YEAH vs YEET fight. 10 men are in the ring and they’re all reasonable choices for winner of the match. The OG Bloodline try to rally, Jey Uso accidentally eliminates Zayn with the Superkick!

The Final Entrant

Number 30 is…Logan Paul. I forgot he was in the match. I was waiting for a big return. he comes out to a chorus of boos of course. Priest eliminates Drew McIntyre! Logan leaps onto the announce table to remain safe from elimination. Knight eliminates Damian Priest.

Styles eliminates LA Knight. Logan Paul goes to the barricade and jumps onto the steel steps. He grabs Styles mid-jump and eliminates him. Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, CM Punk, John Cena, Jey Uso and Logan Paul remain.

It is anyone’s match as they all fight each other. Roman and Rollins are left standing. The intensity is of the charts. They argue. They go counter for counter for counter. Both men are caught in the ropes and CM Punk eliminates them both! Their mutual hatred costs them the match.

Logan Paul eliminates Punk! Punk and Rollins fight at ringside until their separated. Rollins flips off Heyman them stomps Reigns on the steel steps! Punk steps over Reigns to speak to Heyman, a little detail there.

Jey Uso, John Cena and Logan Paul are left. Jey and Logan come to blows. Cena fights them both. He lifts both men up for the double AA! Cena eliminates Logan Paul! Cena vs Uso. Come on Jey! They trade strikes. Cena hits the shoulder tackle, then another, then the side suplex. He raises the hand “you can’t see me” 5 Knuckle Shuffle. Jey counters the AA with a Superkick. Jey hits another one.

Cena escapes elimination. A spear by Jey! Both men are down. Jey narrowly avoids elimination. Both men are on the apron punching each other. Jey Uso superkick, Cena is just hanging on. Cena goes for the AA, Jey escapes and pushes Cena off and eliminates Cena! Jey Uso wins the Men’s WWE Royal Rumble.

Analysis

A+ Grade – One of the best Rumbles in the last 20 years. The first half of the match was your workhorse midcard guys just putting on a great show. Then Roman Reigns entered. Everything got grander and more epic as the match went on. It was absolutely stacked. They had great spots and sequences throughout. There was an abundance of storylines and lore running through a bunch of the competitors.

I was genuinely worried Logan Paul was going to win then he didn’t, hooray. Cena winning seemed like a certainty, but Jey Uso went and pulled off an extreme upset and bloody well done it was deserved. This was a near enough perfect Rumble for me. A great match, great moments, great surprises and a winner that deserves it and will benefit from it.

Final Thoughts on the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble

A Grade – The 2025 WWE Royal Rumble was an excellent show. The women’s rumble was good, not my favourite but it was a lot of fun. Charlotte Flair wins her comeback match to either set up a dream match vs Tiffany Stratton or a third Wrestlemania match vs Rhea Ripley.

DIY retained their tag championships in a brilliant tag match, just unfortunate about the deflating finish. Cody Rhodes closes a chapter in his story, finally putting Owens in his place and ending their violent feud. Then Jey Uso beat the odds to win the Royal Rumble and solidify himself as a main eventer.

Will he choose a rematch with Gunther? Will he choose to challenge his friend for the WWE championship? Time will tell. Overall, this was a classic. The Road to Wrestlemania has begun.
