Biography
Few wrestlers in All Elite Wrestling smile quite as much as Willow Nightingale, and few have backed it up with as much gold. The Long Island powerhouse is a two-time AEW TBS Champion, one half of the first AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions and, since July 2026, the first woman to complete AEW's Women's Triple Crown. Her motto, 'Nothing Matters... Smile Anyway', sums up a character built on joy, but behind the grin is one of the most physical wrestlers in the division.
Trained by Mike Mondo at the New York Wrestling Connection school in Deer Park, Nightingale made her debut in February 2015 and spent years on the north-east independent scene. She held the NYWC Starlet Championship three times, won the Chikara tag titles with Solo Darling and challenged for gold in Shimmer before AEW came calling. Her first AEW match was a loss to Thunder Rosa in May 2021, and that same year she became a regular in Ring of Honor, challenging Rok-C for the Women's World Championship at Final Battle.
AEW handed her a full contract in October 2022, and 2023 was her breakout. At NJPW Resurgence in May she beat Mercedes Moné in the tournament final to become the first Strong Women's Champion, then won the Owen Hart Cup that summer and headlined ROH Death Before Dishonor against Athena. In April 2024 she finally claimed singles gold in AEW, toppling Julia Hart for the TBS Championship at Dynasty, before Moné took it from her at Double or Nothing. That night her tag partner Kris Statlander turned on her, sparking a bitter feud that ran through to a Chicago Street Fight at All Out. Along the way she also won the CMLL World Women's Championship in July 2024 and joined Orange Cassidy's Conglomeration.
After recovering from a concussion, Nightingale became a thorn in the side of the Death Riders, especially Marina Shafir, and was part of the winning side in the Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing 2025, which Dave Meltzer rated five stars. In December 2025 she and Harley Cameron, as the Babes of Wrath, won a tournament to become the inaugural AEW Women's World Tag Team Champions, and three weeks later she beat Moné to become the first two-time TBS Champion. The tag titles went to Divine Dominion at Revolution in March 2026, and a shoulder injury forced her to give up the TBS title in May.
She roared back in July, winning the Casino Gauntlet at Beach Break and then beating Thekla at Redemption on 26 July to become AEW Women's World Champion and the company's first Women's Triple Crown winner. The reign lasted 35 days: carrying a broken hand, she lost the title to Moné at All In at Wembley Stadium on 30 August in a match Meltzer also gave five stars. Thekla then beat her at All Out in September with help from her Triangle of Madness stablemates, leaving Nightingale on the outside of the title picture going into autumn 2026, but rarely far from the next comeback.
