Biography
Dominik Mysterio might be the most effective villain WWE has produced this decade. The son of Rey Mysterio has turned years of jeers into a run that has brought him two Intercontinental Championships, a year-long reign as AAA Mega Champion and a string of awards for being the man fans most love to hate. In autumn 2026 he is back on Raw with The Judgment Day, still heel and still getting under every crowd's skin.
His WWE story started long before his first match. As a child in 2005 he was the centre of the famous custody storyline between his father and Eddie Guerrero. He began training in 2018 with Rey, Konnan, Lance Storm and Jay Lethal, and made his in-ring debut in the deep end, facing Seth Rollins in a street fight at SummerSlam 2020. In May 2021 he and Rey won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship, becoming the first father-and-son team to hold WWE tag gold.
The real breakthrough came in 2022. After weeks of being courted by The Judgment Day, Dominik turned on his father at Clash at the Castle and joined Finn Bálor, Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Over the next year he reinvented himself as "Dirty" Dom, a cocky youngster passing himself off as a hardened ex-con, with Ripley as his "Mami". The act took off, and fans' furious booing turned him into one of the hottest acts in the company. He faced Rey at WrestleMania 39 and won the NXT North American Championship twice in 2023.
In 2024 he turned on Ripley at SummerSlam and lined up with Liv Morgan, a pairing that earned Slammy recognition. Dropping the "Dirty" tag in 2025, he won his first Intercontinental Championship in a fatal four-way at WrestleMania 41, then took his act south of the border, debuting for AAA and winning the Mega Championship at Worlds Collide in September. He lost the Intercontinental title to John Cena that November but won it back from him at Survivor Series: WarGames weeks later, and ESPN named him its Male Wrestler of the Year for 2025.
The 2026 season has been rockier. Penta took the Intercontinental title in March, and a re-energised "Demon" Finn Bálor beat him in a street fight at WrestleMania 42. In AAA, he briefly enjoyed fan support before turning heel again with the El Ojo group, and his Mega Championship reign ended at Triplemanía 34 in September, when El Grande Americano beat him after 366 days. With The Judgment Day still at his back and his father on the opposite side once again, Dominik remains one of Raw's most reliable sources of heat.
