KEVIN
OWENS

Born in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu and raised in Marieville, Quebec, Kevin Steen grew up speaking French and learned English entirely by watching WWF Monday Night Raw — an origin story almost too perfect for someone who would go on to become one of the most compelling talkers in the business. He began training at 14, debuted on his 16th birthday, and spent the next 14 years becoming one of the most beloved figures on the independent circuit. His work in Ring of Honor — particularly his legendary rivalry with best friend Sami Zayn — is some of the finest storytelling in modern wrestling history. Their relationship, built on real-life friendship and professional rivalry, produced matches and moments that ROH fans still talk about today. He held the PWG World Championship a record three times and by the time WWE signed him in 2014, he arrived with more credibility than almost any NXT signee before him. Rebranded as Kevin Owens — the name a tribute to both his son Owen and the late Owen Hart — he made an immediate impact, debuting by attacking Sami Zayn and swiftly becoming one of WWE’s most captivating characters. A former Universal Champion and Grand Slam winner, the Prize Fighter remains one of the most entertaining performers on any roster.
