What If…WrestleMania Only Had 4 Hours?

What if WrestleMania only had 4 hours instead of the marathon we have today? Back in the day (not that I’m that old of course) WrestleMania was a good old-fashioned PPV (non of this PLE stuff) and would usually come in around 3 hours, before slowly squeezing more and more time out until we hit 2 nights.

In this scenario, I ask, what if we only had a 4 hour time slot? These PPV companies are not giving us an inch. So how about we book WrestleMania 41 with just a 4 hour time slot. Sorry Snickers ads, you’re out!

All current storylines are in play. They obviously can’t all make the show though. Here we go….

So after our banging intro video, hyping up the show, we move to our first match…

Let’s give the fans what they want to kick off WrestleMania in style. We aren’t going to overload it either. We are sticking with the 3 teams who have been fighting over these titles in recent months – Motor City Machine Guns, DIY and The Street Profits. Oh, and The Lucha Bros!

I believe they are deserving of a Mania match for their work over the past few months. Pretty Deadly could also get involved at some point, though I would need to see them both put through tables if that is to happen. Lucha Bros will dazzle like they do and pick up the win.

Winners: The Lucha Bros

Match Time: 20 minutes

Time So Far: 28 minutes

Right, so we have used up half an hour so far with the intro package, entrances and the first match. It’s time to kick on now to the dreaded 2nd match on the card. Apparently, this is the match no-one wants as it’s the most forgettable. Let’s try and change that with these two born sports-entertainers:

what if

What if this is actually the perfect spot for these 2? There is no way we will forget Fatu winning his first title in WWE so they get the spot.

Same result as last night – short and sweet with Fatu winning the gold.

Winner: Jacob Fatu

Match Time: 12 minutes

Time So Far: 45 minutes

3rd Match – Time for the ladies! This is where it’s starting to get difficult. We only have 4 hours and I really want to keep the title matches on the card. However, Jade and Naomi have been doing some nice work in building up their feud recently. Arreghhh!! OK here we go, something a bit different:

what if

So these two are literally getting 10 minutes in the ring. It’s going to be fast and furious 12 (or whatever we are up to, minus space of course, no time for that) and Cargill gets the win. On her way up the ramp, Bianca’s music hits and she makes her way out. She congratulates Jade and gives her a hug. Jade looks suspicious but takes the hug.

Then, as she passes Naomi, she again gives a hug and Jade looks a bit pissed at this.

The other competitors then arrive.

what if

Now I’m writing this Sunday afternoon so I don’t know the result, so in just booking it as I see it in my story.

So just as it looks like Bianca is going to win the title, Jade comes back out and stomps the shit out of Bianca, screaming “I know it was you too!”

This leaves Iyo Sky to pick up the win over Bianca as Rhea is tied up outside the ring. You can’t lose the title yet, so this will be a nice victory for her. This will also kick off a feud between Jade and Bianca that will culminate in a match at Backlash.

Winners: Jade Cargill then Iyo Sky

Total 2 Match Time: 30 minutes

Time So Far: 1 hour 26 minutes

Quick advertising hyping Backlash in Ortons home town. Cut to Orton backstage with Aldis, asking him if he has found an opponent for him. Aldis says Orton is not going to the ring tonight. Orton responds with “we’ll see about that “

Quick Snickers ad haha

Time so far: 1 hour 31 minutes.

This is staying on the card as it has a lot going for it, minus Penta who featured in the earlier match. I’m going to go for a win for Dominik as he pins a fallen Finn after a spear. Dominik throws Bron out of the ring, giving him time to pin Finn and kick off a feud between these two.

Winner: Dominik

Match Time: 22 minutes

Time So Far: 2 hours 10 minutes

We head backstage to see Orton in his gear. Out he comes! The camera follows him out to the stage and watches him walk to the ring. Aldis comes out to the stage. “What are you doing Randy? I told you we haven’t got time for this. Your match is off the card.”

Randy responds “I’m not leaving this ring until I get my match. Why don’t you come down if you can’t find anyone?”

Aldis answers with “You’ve left me with no choice. I didn’t want to do this but it’s on you. You have no idea what you’ve done.”

Out comes Miro, who looks scary pissed and comes down to the ring. Now I know it’s Orton, but Miro has to destroy him as he’s going to be booked like a monster and this is how it has to go down.

Winner: Miro

Match time: 7 minutes

Time So Far: 2 hours and 40 minutes

The Viking Raiders vs New Day has just been announced for Raw. Ha!

Ok so I’ve realised that I’m getting to the end of this booking and I haven’t included the World Heavyweight Title. So I’m deviating a little as I feel this lot need a world title on the line and Jey Uso as champion isn’t doing anything for me brother.

Who goes in as champ? Let’s just say, Drew beat Gunther at the Rumble.

Yes, I’ve inserted Drew into this match as he has been involved with all of these this past year and he bloody well deserves it ok!?

The match will go down as it did, with Heyman screwing everyone and aligning with Rollins, giving Drew even more reason to feel aggrieved.

Winner: Seth Rollins

Match Time: 26 minutes

Time So Far: 3 hours and 16 mins

Shit. I’m nearly out of time and so much left. Lots being cut as you can see. There is just enough time though for a quick Snickers advert.

Time So Far: 3 hours and 18 minutes.

Keeping this match on the card as, well, it’s for the main women’s title so really it has to be here doesn’t it. The ladies here have done a decent job over the past 2 weeks to try and build this up and they get the piss break time slot for their efforts. They aren’t getting much time though.

Winner: Tiffany

Match Time: 9 minutes

Time So Far: 3 hours 28 mins.

If you’re wondering about the timings there for entrances, Charlotte came out during the Snickers ad so all is good!

Straight in to a quick video package hyping up the main event. It’s the man who wants to ruin wrestling vs the American Nightmare.

In this universe, Cena wins! But there has to be shenanigans. Right??

Well it looks like Cody has it won until out of nowhere, Rock enters and hits Cody with a Rock Bottom. The ref calls for the bell for a DQ, but Rock uses his powers to fire the referee, call a new ref down and count the 3 on Cody. After a few chair shots of course. Cena wins!!

Winner: John Cena

Match Time: 28 minutes

Total PPV Time: 4 hours
