6 Challengers For Hangman

Well, after what can only be described as an awesome All In Texas, we now move on to the next challenger. Who is going to challenge Hangman first? Will it be a long and fruitful reign or will it be as short-lived as a CM Punk title run?

Let’s get to it!

MJF

The first choice is obviously MJF. He won the Casino Gauntlet match and therefore has a guaranteed match against the champion. It seems this is basically the contract cash in type thing that WWE does with their Money in the Bank.

I guess we may find out on Dynamite what MJF’s intentions are, but im thinking he may get preoccupied with someone else before he focuses on the main title.

SWERVE STRICKLAND

Swerve came to Hangman’s aid at All In, adding another layer to this incredibly compelling story between the two. Have they forgiven each other? Probably not but they are trying to move on. However, when the AEW World Title is at stake, that uneasy truce could go straight out the window. Personally, I dont think it will be Swerve next as this relationship needs a little more TLC before they go at it again. Also, the partnership with Ospreay is incredible right now, so id like to see this continue before Swerve and Ospreay facing off.

Jon Moxley

Jon Moxley will be due a rematch and it will be a match that absolutely noone wants Jon to win. I’m not sure where the Death Riders go from here. Either Mox takes a very well earned break, or he may go into a feud with Darby and Danielson.

WILL OSPREAY

Will Ospreay is hovering around the top of the card and will be an incredible champion but as I said earlier, I want him to continue with Swerve for now. There is already a story there waiting. Hangman beat Ospreay to win the Owen Hart Tournament so Will will want to get one back and win the title. Just not yet.

kenny omega

Kenny Omega and Hamgman have a hell of a backstory. Former tag team champions and stable partners, this story writes itself. Omega is on a downer after losing his belt to Okada at All In. Will he go straight after the big title? I’m not so sure. I think he has some unfinished business with Okada first.

bryan danielson

Hear me out. Danielson lost the title against Mox and never had a rematch (due to you know, being murdered) and I feel this would be incredibly intriguing. I want Hamgman to go against a genuine threat and Danielson would provide this. Danielson could eat a pin and not be harmed and this would give Hamgman an incredible win over a top threat. Book it Tony!
