WWE NXT Results & Review (Feb. 4th 2025)
Here are the results for February 3rd 2025 edition of NXT from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida
Jacy Jayne w/Fatal Influence (Jazmin Nyx & NXT North American Champion Fallon Henley) vs Stephanie Vaquer
Vaquer has a match with the NXT North American champion Fallon Henley coming up. They do some solid grappling, Jacy using a handful of hair to take advantage. Big dropkick by Vaquer out of the corner. More hair pulling and a kick combo by Jayne, but Vaquer traps Jacy between her legs and does that move she does. You know the one, where she ass-slams her over and over into the mat. A distraction by Fatal Influence allows Jayne to drop Vaquer with a big kick.
They’re trading blows after the break, Vaquer goes for a high risk move but Jacy counters. Vaquer hits a corner trapped superkick, I am familiar with it being called a ‘Cheeky Nandos’. Superplex by Vaquer. More strikes and counters exchanged. Vaquer hits Eat Defeat, a meteora and a back suplex but no pinfall attempt. Jacy hits a brutal running knee for a near fall. Vaquer hits a DDT and a roll-up for a near fall. Vaquer trips Jayne and hits the 619 followed with the springboard crossbody for the pin, but Jayne’s ally Jazmyn Nyx interferes. She accidentally strikes Jayne though, Vaquer drops Nyx and then finishes off Jayne to win the match.
Analysis
B+ Grade – This was a nice reminder that Jacy Jayne is a very good singles wrestler. This was a great match with the right woman going over. They have teased issues between Jayne and Nyx for some time now, I expect Fatal Influence to blow up in the near future.
-Oba Femi will prove tonight Austin Theory and Grayson Waller do not belong in the ring with him. He says he owes Trick Williams nothing.
NXT Heritage Cup Champion Lexis King promo
The Heritage Cup champ says the king has finally been crowned. He wanted to be humble, but he cannot when he is on the path to being the biggest star in wrestling. People tried to guide him, but he doesn’t take advice from anyone and he does not like leadership. Lexis plays to his own rules. He was born into this business, he is the son of a psycho. He didn’t want to be like his father. However, he knew his father would do anything to win. His father had potential and never managed to reach it. Lexis King did not want to change and he feels best as his father’s son. He will be his true self always. The Heritage Cup has been mistreated and he is about to offend some of the wrestling purists, but he is changing the Heritage Cup rules. From now on the Heritage Cup will be one fall, winner take all. OUT COMES FANDANGO!!!
“Fandango” makes his WWE return and says he used to get real weird here in NXT. Fans chant welcome back. Lexis says he used to run around and play dress up. This is not the YMCA it is NXT. Fandango says Lexis looks like his face was spray painted on this morning. Fandango introduces himself under his new TNA name, JDC and he represents The System in TNA. They are always looking for gold and he wants a sip from the Heritage Cup. Next week, it will be JDC vs Lexis King next week.
Analysis
C+ Grade – Hey this was a bit of fun wasn’t it? A little slow to start. Lexis King is still growing and building his promo skills. It wasn’t great but it was fine. I must say that he looked absolutely ridiculous with the make up and the way his facial hair was shaped. It was hard to take him seriously at how stupid he looked. JDC making his WWE return was fun and I look forward to seeing him next week.
Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo vs Ridge Holland
The intense feud between Holland and The Family continues here. Stacks attacks before the bell but he starts getting suplexed around by Holland. Shawn Spears is watching on from afar. Lorenzo takes Holland out of the ring but the big Brit shoves him into the steps. Holland throws Lorenzo around the ring with ease. Every strikes Stacks throws, Holland throws one back 10 times harder. Springboard codebreaker by Stacks. Holland catches him from a dive with an arm-trapped suplex.
Tony D’Angelo distracts Holland, Izzy Dame tries to run in again but Holland catches her. Lorenzo gets a roll up for a 2. Holland hits the Redeemer to win. D’Angelo and Dame exchange a glance over the ring.
Analysis
C- Grade – This was a little weak, a lack of chemistry but also a lack of someone strong enough to lead the match. It just felt like 2 guys throwing moves at each other for the sake of it. Interested in seeing what role Izzy Dame plays alongside the Family.
-Yoshiki Inamura and Josh Briggs want a title match against the champions Fraxiom. Fraxiom will first defeat the Nemeth brothers in TNA, they ask them to find themselves opponents to beat and prove they deserve a shot.
Sol Ruca & Zaria vs Gigi Dolin & Tatum Paxley
Ruca and Paxley start and fight to a stalemate. Ruca rides to wave on Paxley but Gigi shoves her off. Zaria and Dolin wrestle now, Zaria overpowers Dolin. Gigi uses her quickness and slaps Zaria. Zaria slaps her back and DROPS her. Gigi with a basement dropkick to Sol. Paxley with what she calls a Spider Insider, like a choking reverse surfboard, it looked great. That is innovation. Gigi and Paxley with dives on Ruca for a 2 count.
Sol and Gigi exchange counters, Zaria is in and decimates both of her opponents. Huge German suplex to Paxley and a spear on Gigi gets a near fall. Gigi and Paxley send Sol and Zaria into each other and hit stereo kicks. Zaria catches Paxley and F-5’s her ontop of Gigi. Ruca hits Smashing the Sol on Gigi to win.
Analysis
B Grade – This was short and sweet in all of the best ways. The action was nonstop from start to finish. They kept the momentum and escalated the match to the finish. Zaria is a future women’s champion, she is great in the ring. The other 3 women are showing a lot of potential too.
-Trick Williams says he deserves the title shot. He is going to drop “both their bitch asses” tonight. He says a receipt for Oba is coming too.
NXT Women’s Championship Summit
Bayley and Roxanne Perez come out. Perez hypes up her Royal Rumble performance and breaking Bayley’s record. She even eliminated Giulia. She claims Bayley got tired of getting her ass kicked on Raw and Smackdown so she came to the cool brand. Perez gets it. After the Rumble, Perez wants all of the titles in WWE. Roxanne now she sees all of her idols are in her way. Bayley tells her to shut up. She wants Perez to be successful in this business. Bayley paid her dues here and Perez has no respect for that.
When Perez lost the title, she lost her mind. Perez is is losing herself, she might lose her best friend too. If Bayley loses at Vengeance Day she will be fine, but will Roxanne? Perez says when it comes to the NXT title, she has no friends, in WWE she has no equal. Perez is going to win back the women’s champion and then win the rest of them. If she decides to vacate one of them, then maybe Cora Jade can finally win something.
The NXT women’s champion Giulia come out. She says Perez is nothing without a title. She says she will beat Bayley too. Out comes the Royal Rumble winner Charlotte Flair. The last time she won the Rumble, she challenged and won the NXT women’s title. She praises Perez’s performance last weekend but says Perez will be runner up again. Flair says the hype is real with Giulia but she is still better than her. Flair throws up the 4 Horsemen sign to Bayley.
Out comes Cora Jade with a crutch! She takes out Bayley and Giulia. Perez begs for mercy, Cora swings at her best friend! Perez escapes as Cora stands tall with the women’s title.
Analysis
A Grade – A fantastic segment. Perez showed much better skills on the mic here than the last time. Bayley would have been the weakest here if it wasn’t for Giulia. I obviously forgive her for that considering she is Japanese. Flair teases wrestling them all. The highlight was Cora Jade finally getting herself some and calling her own shot.
-Ava tries to suspend Je’Von Evans for his actions, but Ethan Page says they should face off at Vengeance Day. Ava agrees only if Evans can get himself medically cleared.
-Ridge Holland says that he can beat D’Angelo if he had a fair shot. Izzy Dame suggests a cage match, the Don accepts and says he doesn’t need anyone to beat him.
Kelani Jordan vs Karmen Petrovic w/Ashante Thee Adonis
Jordan with a dropkick for a 2. Jordan dominates Karmen early on and trash talks her. Petrovic is faster and able to avoid Jordan, landing big kicks. Petrovic wears down Jordan, but Kelani fights back with an arm drag and another dropkick. Kelani accidentally hits a dive onto Adonis on the outside. Jaida Parker comes out and argues with Jordan, Karmen dives onto Jordan. DDT by Petrovic for a 2.
They exchange strikes and counters. Jordan with a big elbow strike and an X-Factor for a 2. Petrovic hits a trio of forearms. Clothesline gets a 2. Petrovic hits a top rope rana in a Trish Stratus style. Jordan with a bridging Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Jordan with an awesome Olympic Slam to Karmen. Split-legged moonsault by Jordan. She hits a second one whilst staring down Parker. She grabs Petrovic in a submission and has to tap out.
Post match Jordan is pissed and chokes out Petrovic. The referee decides to reverse the decision and give the win the Karmen by DQ.
Analysis
C+ Grade – A solid match between these two. Kelani Jordan continues to show her new aggressive side but it cost her this time. Parker vs Jordan should be great.
(Hey, you want to get in the mood for Wrestlemania? I am currently rebooking every Wrestlemania ever! Here is my most recent one)
A-Town Down Under vs Trick Williams & NXT Champion Oba Femi
Waller and Theory have a disagreement during their entrance about who is going to be the champion after Vengeance Day. Femi and Theory start, but Trick tags himself in. Theory uses this to ambush Trick and beat him down. Trick fights back with a dropkick before continuing to argue with Oba Femi. Theory hits a dropkick for a 2. ATDU double team Williams. Trick drops Waller with a big kick. Femi tags himself in, he argues with Trick allowing Waller to land a punch. Oba hits a scoop slam. Trick tags himself back in. More arguing between Trick and Femi and Waller pushes Oba into him. Femi pulls Trick out of the ring and argue again. Waller with a huge dive onto both men!
Trick has been worn down. ATDU hit some great tandem offence. Trick is wiped out by Theory on the outside, Waller hits a big clothesline. Waller with a diving elbow drop off the barricade. Trick tags in Femi who destroys both of his opponents. Femi has both men on his shoulders for a double Samoan Drop. Running uppercuts by Femi to both men. He sets up the finish, but Trick tags himself in! Waller drops Trick then mocks Femi, he turns into a discus big boot for a near fall. Femi and Waller tumble out of the ring, Eddy Thorpe attacks Trick from behind! Theory hits the finish and pins Trick!
Eddy Thorpe clears the ring. Oba Femi has no interest in saving Trick Williams. Thorpe absolutely belts Trick all over with a leather strap, then any security who try to stop him. Thorpe gloats about his actions.
Post match Jordan is pissed and chokes out Petrovic. The referee decides to reverse the decision and give the win the Karmen by DQ.
Analysis
B+ Grade – A great main event match, Waller and Theory reminded us of their abilities as wrestlers not just as characters. The animosity between Trick and Femi was their ultimate downfall as will as Thorpe who has unfinished business with Trick it seems. I liked this very much, a good way to end the show.
Final Thoughts
B Grade Overall – A consistent show again this week. Nothing ground-breaking but everything was enjoyable to me. Things are shaping up for Vengeance Day pretty well, I think we’re in for a good show.
